Ok... Here’s the deal and why.
Your bill comes to the cost of parts plus 5,000 per hour labor with a cap of 3 hours.
For example:
Problem: Machine is Slow: Cause and Fix: You need to get the ad-ware, spy-ware and viruses cleaned off your machine. With careful backup, cleaning and repair of the infected programs it takes a little over 2 hours. No parts or anything so a straight 2 x 5,000=10,000 yen. or Cause and Fix: Machine is Ancient and hard disk is failing. I do a net search and find the part costs 10,000 yen. *First I call you to ok the purchase* Then I back up your old drive, change the drives, reinstall windows and dump your data back on. Parts 10,000 and 5 hours labor. (Labor is capped at 3 hours) 10,000+(3X5,000)=25,000 yen.
Why?
Well, I can’t change the price of the parts. So that’s a lock. Labor: The majority of my clients are English teachers and they pull an average of 3,000 yen per hour. Sure some of you got your company classes and big buck privates, some are university students and some of you are struggling as you are just entering the expat game. Although I provide a quality service, I have no wish to rip off my customers (bad for repeat business and word of mouth advertising). However, I do have to feed my kids... so the industry average of 5,000 is fair. I capped it at 3 hours because 15,000 is all I would pay in labor before I would just buy a new machine, and I’m an average guy so I figured it was an appropriate number.
All said and done, it’s the best deal in town.
