Using HTML Administration

When IIS is setup, an Administration Web Site is also configured.  This site supports an HTML version of ISM. This allows management of IIS from a remote site using IE 3.0 or later.  For the anonymous connections are disabled for the Administrative Web site, an IIS administrator permission is necessary to use HTML Administration.

1)                  Logging on from within the domain

Using IE and using an account that is an IIS administrator, access is given transparently to the HTML Internet Service Manager.

2)                  Logging on from another domain

It is required that the user log on. The log on process utilizes the Microsoft Challenge/Response.
