The Python is truly one of the great hunters in its habitat. The first advantage it has is that as an adult pythons can for long spans of time, almost a year, go without feeding, this makes them superior to others I think because they dont have to be seen by predators as much as other creatures, which helps them from being attacked.
The next is that they are so well camoflauged that on the floor or trees(they arent in much) they blend in, so they can ambush their prey. Which is well needed since they are no 400 horsepower Ford Mustang in the speed department.
The last one is their strength and the way there teeth work. The python's teeth are sharp and also move like little fingers. A spilt second after they snag their prey they wrap it about and squeeze it with its extremely strong muscles. Once it is safe for them to put the food in their mouth(meaning that there isnt a good chance of the prey fighting back while in its mouth which can cause infection if the snake is bitten) Then they work their jaws almost always over the head of the prey(makes it easier to swallow) and then there teeth begin to work the food back into there throat and then the muscles again working, push the food to the stomach.
Well thats it for my opinions on the pythons. Now in the next pages I will talk about taking care of ball pythons and other things I found out about them in my life.
