To Walk-Through
Changed Link
Link is much easier to work with now. He can jump higher, lift bigger objects, run faster, you name it. However, there are some downsides. He cannot use the Fairy Slingshot (so you are without your primary long-range weapon until you get the Fairy Bow), the Boomerang (which will eventually be replaced by the Hookshot), or the Deku Shield (which will be fine if you have the Hylian Shield, but if not, you need to go buy one ASAP -- go to the shop in Kakariko Village).

Changed Landscape
When you leave the Temple of Time, you'll notice a cloud of fire hovering around the peak of Death Mountain. This is just a taste of how much Hyrule has changed in your absense. Go into the Town Market; you'll notice Re-Dead everywhere. There are several ways to get around them. You'll be coming through here a lot, so get used to the Re-Dead. You can either stun them with the Sun's Song, kill them all with your sword (VERY risky), or just weave past them (just be careful that you don't get close enough that you get paralyzed by them -- and then have the life sucked out of you, literally). Anyway, though the Sun's Song route takes a while, it's worth it, just for safety reasons. If you don't have at least 70 rupees in your wallet, go into the side door where the bored soldier used to be (now a Poe-Trader is there) and break pots to find some money. Head out through the now-broken drawbridge (and though it's ugly this way, at least you can get in and out of the Market no matter what time of day it is).

You'll find yourself in Hyrule Field, just like always. However, it's perpetually dark over here by the Castle. Walk out into the field a ways and it will lighten up a bit. Head to Lon Lon Ranch.

Lon Lon Ranch
If you did not learn Epona's Song as a child, wait to do all this until you have defeated the Forest Temple and can return to your younger body. You will find Lon Lon Ranch a sad place. Malon is in the stables, looking quite pitiful. Talon is nowhere to be found. Ingo is now running the place. Go to the corral and pay him 10 rupees to ride the horses. Play Epona's Song as soon as you get in and Epona will ride up to you. Hop on and familiarize youreself with the controls. After a minute has passed, Ingo will kick you out. Pay 10 more rupees to ride again. Play the song again, vault onto Epona's saddle, and then approach Ingo to talk to him. Challenge him to a race around the track; you'll have to pay 50 rupees. You had better win, because if you don't you'll have to pay up and start all over again. Win by using the carrots sparingly because they take a while to come back. The best thing to do is to get right in front of him and stick Epona's butt in his horse's face to keep him from getting in front of you. When you win, he'll get angry and challenge you to another race. This time, if you win, you get to keep Epona. Beat him again, the same way, and he'll be true to his word. But since he is such a sore loser (and because he had promised Epona to Ganondorf), he will lock you inside the Ranch. Not a problem, just vault over one of the outside walls into Hyrule Field. Play Epona's Song to beckon Epona any time you're in the field.

Visiting Dampe
Now go to Kakariko Village. It has also changed (and for the better, if you ask me) -- the unfinished building has been completed, the workers are gone, and the whole Hyrule Castle Town Market crowd has moved in since I guess they were unhappy with their Re-Dead neighbors. Go into the Graveyard and pull open the first grave on the hill to the left. Hop inside and you'll find the ghost of Dampe. Accept his challenge for a race and follow the flames he puts on the ground (but don't run into them). You'll eventually get to the finish. Open the treasure chest you'll find to win the
Hookshot (click here for basic info about it and here for operation tips). Go to the door behind the chest and play the Song of Time to move the block. Climb the steps and you'll find yourself in the Windmill. Be careful in snagging Piece of Heart 9, then hop down to the floor. Pull out your Ocarina and talk to the windmill guy; he'll teach you the Song of Storms.
