METHOD OF DIAGNOSIS OF DIABETES
GUIDELINES
Diagnosis of diabetes must be based on blood sugar estimations.
Urine glucose testing must not be used to diagnose diabetes.
True blood glucose should be estimated using enzymatic methods like glucose Oxidase method.
It should be mentioned whether capillary blood, whole venous blood or venous plasma is used for sugar estimation.
Glucose tolerance test must be carried out to exclude diabetes.
