Exercises - Master

The symbol for the Indian Goddess of learning, Saraswati.

Pre-Exercise Chat || Basic Guiding - Introduction || For Turn-Position || Skipping || Phugadi || Push-Up || Balance on one Foot || Walking on a Straight Line || Skip Jump || Push and Pull || The Body Movement || Stretch Exercise || Kicks || On the Toes || Twist || Hip Rotation || Hip to Side || Posture || Roll of Foot || Head Turn ||

Please remember that all the movements in these exercises and the dance are part of our natural movements, and we keep doing it on and off subconsciously. It is very important to first understand this, and to apply it when dancing and exercising.

Dance and the exercises given herein are all movements that should carry the main concentration and not the steps. Steps in dance are only given as it is the easiest method to talk about or to put it in a piece of paper. In fact they are the end result of the body movement. This body movement is too complex to put on a piece of paper. So always remember to have this at the back of the mind, when practicing the steps "How should my body move so that the steps fall into place as indicated."

My sincere advice is to always do the exercises first before attempting to learn the dance. Because when exercising you need to think of the natural movement in life and the exercise as a fraction of the dance. And when you practice the dance you need to think of the natural movement, the various fractions of dance parts in the exercises and the dance movement itself.

So a step by step approach becomes more viable alternative irrespective of whether you are learning to be a professional dancer or a social dancer.

Believe me
Kindly believe me when I say that the exercises herein are very important and need to be understood thoroughly before attempting the dance part. One of the reasons is that I am not earning financially anything from this site, for various reasons. And neither am I well off. So I have no intention of coloring matters up for the essentials of marketing.

Thus I write the truth, the truth that I love to follow, the truth that I cannot tell my prospective students that dancing is really a difficult subject. I need students, I need the money for survival, so I tell them that it is really just as simple as a normal walk. This is actually a white-lie, since dancing is although a part and parcel of life that we keep doing regularly in broken fractions subconsciously, it takes one tremendous efforts to rediscover ones self to understand the essence of a dance in relation to life, prosperity and growth.

So the dance is really difficult and need to be given the right priority. The fruits of labour are very subtle. 99% of the chances is that it will not pay you directly, however it will pay you in the field of your priority. As it indirectly hones up the skills required in ones profession, what ever it might be.
