Second Lesson: Second Part/Hesitation
Move with the Left foot forward, such that at the full extent on
the stride, ones upper and inner most thigh are to almost
touching each other. As one moves forward the heel of the Left
foot touch the floor first and going flat on the foot. The Right
foot is drawn up to the left foot but it is kept off the floor.
Count here "1" as soon as the ones complete body
weight settles on the Left foot.
For the next two counts, hesitate in the same position.
Next move the free foot; in this case, it is the Right foot backwards. Again, the upper and innermost of ones thighs touch at the full extent of the backward stride. As one moves backwards, the toes of the Right foot touch first, going on to the ball of the foot. Here onwards keep bending the Right knee instead of lowering the heel. Only when both the feet are together, the Right heel allowed lowering to the floor. When the complete body weight is taken ton the Right foot count "4".
For the next two counts "5" and "6", hesitate in the same position.
Repeat this exercise until one is comfortable with this forward and backward movement.
Next part is to move side ward. Move the Left foot to ones side for the count "7" and then hesitate in this position for the next two counts, "8" and "9". Repeat this movement again for the counts "10", "11" and "12". (Note: Which side to move? The side of the free/moving foot.) Thus, move the Right foot to the side for the count of 10. Then draw the Left foot to the Right foot and hesitate without keeping the Left foot on the ground, for the next two counts 11 and 12.
Thus, we get the movements, "Forward",
"Backward", "Side" and "Side". The
same with the counts would be:
For "1, 2, 3". Moving forward with the Left foot and
hesitate.
For "4, 5, 6". Moving backward with the Right foot and
hesitate.
For "7, 8, 9". Moving to the left side with the Left
foot and hesitate.
For "10, 11, 12". Moving to the right side with the
Right foot and hesitate.
This concludes the Second Part of the Basic Sequence called Hesitation.
Ladys movements are the counterpart of Mans.(Also see the variation of this picture given below.) |
