Front & Back Turn Sequence: (Rumba) Part 7

The first basic sequence.

Please Note: This is a sequel to Basic Sequence: Front & Back (Cha Cha Cha)

Sequence:
1. Rock Turn 4 1
2. Front Turn 4 1
3. Back Turn 4 1
4. Rock Turn 4 1
5. Front Turn 4 1
6. Back Turn 4 1

Note:
Earlier the above sequence was practiced primarily with Cha Cha Cha in mind, and later the same movements were adopted for Jive and Quickstep. Similarly the same sequence can be practiced for Rumba as well. The only thing required is the substitution of the rhythm for Rumba, “Slow or preferably 4, 1” instead of Cha Cha 1. Note that here both the counts 4, 1 are taken on the same foot. See the table below; the last row is for the basic rhythm in Rumba:

All the figures and movement pattern given for the dance Cha Cha Cha, remains the same and unaltered for Rumba as well.

Although the movement is same here as that for Cha Cha Cha and Jive, the character of the dance changes due to the different character of music.
