Like most Square Dance clubs, fall is the time of the year for lessons to begin. What better way to kick-off our lesson season then with an old fashion Ice Cream Social! The Ice Cream Social introduces new-comers to the art of Square Dancing and invites them to join us in a truly healthy, active, and fun sport. Newcomers learn a few basic maneuvers, to tease their desire to learn, and are assisted in squares by our Angel couples. The date is always the last Thursday night in September from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. It is a wonderful opportunity to practice Square Dance Etiquette and to greet and welcome the new dancers. It is also a special time to make new friends, and enjoy the Ice Cream of course! Lessons begin the first Thursday night of October and continue through May when the new class graduates and officially become mainstream dancers! This year our lessons will be divided into two sets of beginning classes. Each begining class will continue for 10 weeks with an advanced progression component of three phases for a total of 30 weeks of lessons. At the end of the first 10 weeks, a new class will begin. New lessons begin on January 19, 2006. Advanced level consist of review and assisting with the new dancers for the first part of class followed by an additional hour of learning more complex maneuvers in phase II and phase III dancing.
