I have been long fascinated with and in love with all of Asia, particularly Japan. I have been fortunate enough to have visited nearly every Asian country, and still, after all these years, when it is time to leave Asia and Japan, I feel a profound sadness. It has been said, and I agree, that either you "get Asia" or you don't...never truer words were spoken. I have made many close friends over the years and I have been fortunate enough for them to share a part of their life, and those things that make them uniquely "Asian"..whatever that may be. Again, another cliché, "for those that understand, no explanation is necessary, for those that don't, no explanation is ever enough."
I hope since you've found this page, perhaps we are kindred souls, and we truly "get" and love Asia and Japan in a way few understand.
Travel with me now, through time, space and memories for my look at Asia. Your comments, suggestions and input are always welcome. If you too are a lover of Asia, and a "sufferer" of this love affair, please write to me.
The greatest number of pictures are of Japan, for it was in Japan that I started this great odyssey years ago, and still, today, Japan is where my heart returns to when left to its own devices...I confess to being a "Kansai" kinda guy, and although I bear Tokyo no animosity, for me, the Osaka (Kansai) area is still true Japan :) When talking with friends from Tokyo, I am often chided about my "Kansai-Ben" Japanese. Oh well, Osaka is still my "town" and has my heart. So for those of you that enjoy this page..."okini!"
