APA KHABAR FROM FASCINATING MALAYSIA !

Sabah. Kota Kinabalu. Located in Eastern Malaysia, Kota Kinabalu is my favorite place in Malaysia. Sabah, is known as the "Land Below the Wind", Kota Kinabalu, the largest city in Sahah, is not to be missed. Beautiful country, beautiful people, warm, genuine and friendly. This photo I took while on a walk through the mountains surrounding "KK" (as it's known locally). It led into a small village unknown even to the locals in KK. I took the walk across this bridge and was fortunate (my Malaysian friends say I was lucky, this was once a land of head-hunters!) and met a warm "village family" who were just intrigued with me as I with them. When in KK, take the time to climb Mt. Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Malaysia and with all the fame, beauty and glory of Mt. Fuji in Japan.  I still miss you CJ

A land of contrasts. While Sabah is a modern thriving city, you can find free wandering water buffalo nearly anywhere in Sabah. I took this picture about 10 minutes from the downtown area of Kota Kinabalu. The locals tell me they are very docile and children often ride them..I'll pass...Taxi!!

Bali Hai...Bali Hai!! Think I'm confused?? Not! This is actually where the movie "South Pacific" was filmed. This is Tioman Island. The only thing more beautiful than this photo of Tioman Island is actually being on it. "Some enchanted evening......

Kuala Lumpur. Known as "KL" in Malaysia. This is the opulent "Palace of the Golden Horses" in KL. Truly a Palace, worthy of a King's visit, but this common man was fortunate enough to stay here. A truly International Five Star Hotel. Beautiful. A shuttle boat (Malaysian Style) here will take you on the 15 minute ride to the M.I.N.E.S. Exposition Center and theme park. Local go to this park located near the equator to roam the "snow room" and get a taste of true snow and freezing temperatures! Why?? No clue...Ya gotta do KL...great people, warm and friendly and terrific nightlife! (Psst...if driving in KL, don't do it with Ms. Goay, you'll get a tour from the "guide from the lost"..she gets lost easily!)

Statue of the "Golden Horses". Located just outside the lobby, this magnificent statue is not to be missed. The detail is lost in this photo I took, so, take a moment and look close at it when there. It's worth your time.
