Schizophrenia

What is Schizophrenia? Well the common misconception that I have come across alot is that it is a disease of Multiple Personalities and that all Schizophrenic's are inherently Violent. I have it and I can tell you that I have only one personality and I am not Violent. It is more of a disease of delusions and hallucinations, for example hearing voices and believing that you are jesus. I don't believe this by the way but some schizophrenic's do. John Nash, a mathemetician developed schizophrenia in his 20's while he was in college. His story was told in the movie A Beautiful Mind. He imagined people(yep like an imaginary friend) and had a delusion that the government had hired him to crack top secret codes from the russians. My schizophrenia is a bit different in that my main "issue" is a delusion that makes it rather difficult for me to socialize and concentrate on anything. There are different types of schizophrenia. I am somewhat lucky in that I am better off then some shizophrenic's I guess. There are drugs out there that do work for some people with schizophrenia, but sadly none of them work for me. Instead, God has been helping me learn to deal with the disease's I have. And no, I don't hear his voice if that's what you're thinking.
