Installing new hardware win 9x

1. Click "start"
2. scroll up to "settings"
3. select "control panel"
4. Select "add new hardware". This opens the add-new-hardware wizard
5. Click "next" windows will start searching for your plug and play devices
   Please wait while windows searches for your plug and play devices
6. Once completed any devices whose drivers have not been installed or are installed but not working will be displayed .
7. Select the device you'd like to install if its in the list and click "next"
8. If its not listed select "No the device isn't in the list" and click "next"
9. In the next window select "No i want to select the hardware from a list" and click "next".
10. In the next dialogue select the type of device you are installing and click "next"
11. Select the manufacturer of your device and model then click "next".
12. If the device is not listed and you have the manufacturer's driver disk Select "have disk" then browse to the location of the .inf (device information) file
    click "ok"
13. If the driver is correct click "next" and Windows will install it for you.
14. Click "finish" and your new hardware is installed.

Please note that the system might need to be restarted for the new settings to take effect.
