Compulsory log on to Windows 98
This tweak to yourwindows registry prevents users from cancelling at the logon window. this is usefull if you have applications which need the network and like always user do not bother to log on if they can avoid it or have forgotten their password.
Note:
This involves editting the registry. Please back up your registry before executing the following steps.
That you need to have a network logon server on the network for this to work otherwise you will not be able to use your computer. for example Windows NT 4.0,2000 serveror a Novell netware server

1. Start
2. Select Run and type regedit and hit Enter
3. In the registry windows select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
4. Click Network
5. Click Logon
6. In the right window right click and select New then click DWORD Value
7.Type MustBeValidated in the name field
doubleclick the new DWORD. in the Value data field enter 1 and click OK
8. Close the registry and restart the computer.

I hope this is not counter productive but just in case you find yourself in a tight spot if your network server fails or is unaivailable and you have to use your pc, restart it in safe mode by pressing F8 at boot up and change the value of MustBevalidated to 0 and then restart.
