SwitchBlade® is first and foremost a text editor that can create, open, and edit ANSI (American National Standards Institute) formatted file formats, but cannot currently save and open UTF (Unicode Transformation Format) formatted files correctly. Future plans may consider tackling the aforementioned inadequacies. Aside from the above mentioned, we list both its scope and limitations.

What SwitchBlade CAN do for you:

· Create, open, edit, and save files in RTF and Simple Text in ANSI format.

· Simple text formatting and manipulation (find, replace, cut, copy, and paste...).

· Insert pictures and images in Bitmap (*.BMP), JPEG (*.JPG, *.JPEG), and static
  GIF (*.GIF) formats.

· A custom dictionary based spell checking including Filipino.

· An MS Word dependent spell check method.

· A MS Word dependent thesaurus function.

· Dynamic mode and GUI (Graphical User Interface) switching.

· An automatic document recovery.

· An MS OS dependent text-to-speech function and speaking buttons.

· Also supports voice dictation through the Language Toolbar when advanced
  text services is extended to other applications and Windows XP skinning effects.

· Print documents (quite clumsily... so use WordPad for that purpose instead.).

What it CAN'T do for you:

· Does not provide a way for inserting tables (even WordPad doesn't provide
  one...).

· High-end spell checking in Filipino and grammar checking (WordPad is illiterate
  when it comes to spelling and doesn't care whatever you type on the screen...).

· VoodooSpell™ is not perfect and is still in beta version (it stops checking upon
  encounter of a special character, a picture, more than one non-breaking space,
  and a CRLF (Carriage Return and Line Feed).

· Although its 100% free, it's never 100% bug free (anybody care to show such
  a software?).

· Cook your food, wash your clothes, get you a girlfriend/boyfriend, light a
  cigarette, or open the last remaining bottle of San Mig Light.
