SAINTJOHN (Mill Street)

Saint John is the eastern terminus of the Island Central's Montreal to New Brunswick mainline. In the model version of Saint John the IC's main locomotive facilities and the IRVING PULP AND PAPER Mill are located next to Long Wharf, the Mill Street Yard and Union Station adjacent to the downtown and inner harbour. Island Central trackage ends 270 feet east of the station where the CN begins. Interchange between the two roads takes place on ICR track #6 near Union Station. The track from Saint John westward to Lancaster ascends to a large bridge over the St. John River at the Reversing Falls Gorge. Unfortunately railfans are unable to see the river crossing depicted on the IC version of the line due to retrofitting constraints.
