We currently know that Joseph Ishtman was born in 1807; that he married Rebecca Hess in 1873; that they had 13 children, 6 boys & 7 girls.
We have some information on their youngest son, Frank, born in 1866, who wed Sarah Meyers, born in 1861 to John & Marie Hess.
We know that Frank & Sarah had 5 children: Mable May Ishman, born May 1, 1885; Mollie Ellen Ishman, born April 21, 1887 & dies August 9, 1888, at 1y:3m:19d old; Charles Clinton Ishman, born December 20, 1889 and dies sometime in 1948; Reuben Ishman, born April 21, 1892 and dies November 17, 1892, at 0y:6m:27d old; and Franklin Ishman, born November 30, 1893 and dies December 6, 1893, at 0y:0m7d old.
We know that Charles Clinton Ishman[1889] wed Cathrine Ellen Kern and had 7 children: Sarah Pearl, Charles Edward, William Irvin, Violet Dorthy, Catherin, Mary & Mona.
We know that William Irvin Ishman[1913] wed Alice Irene Miller[1903] and had 5 children: John Clinton, William Irvin Jr., Barbara Ann, Ronald Clair, and Lois Jean.
Family from this point forward are Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and so forth. Several have contributed greatly to the development of this site by sending family pictures, and
by sharing what family history they
I have no doubt that the greatest discovery related to the Ishman Family's history was found many years ago by a restless teenager, in the home of Irvin & Alice Ishman, by Lisa (Ishman) Gamber, when she happened upon an old family bible which contained he names and birth dates of the children of Joseph Ishtman[1807] and Rebecca Hess[1820].
It is our endever to trace the family lines of each of these 13 families, and to continue to trace our family ancestry back to the first Ishtman to set foot on American soil.
I have recently been given information on Henry Ishtman[1851], the brother of Frank[1866], and son of Joseph[1807] Ishtman, by a distant relative: JK (Name withheald by request.). JK has been very helpful in supplying names, dates, and pictures related to Henry Ishtman's family line down to the present day. There are still many names to be collected and sorted out, but in time we will get them all listed and put in place on this Ishman Family Tree.
And let us not forget the family lines that have been joined to our family through marriage. We need to keep track of the maiden names of the women who have married Ishman men, and the surnames of the men that have married Ishman women.
So if you are, or know a Hess, Meyers, Kern, Miller, Orris, Statler, Hackett, Fritz, Almandarez, Kinney, and I know there are more out there, we want to hear from them too.

I discovered that Charles Henry Ishman is the man who has run the Henry & Ella Ishman Family Reunion for many years. He has passed this honor to another, but he is expected to be in attendance at this years annual gathering.
If all goes well, I expect to be meeting this distant cousin in July.
