This web site began as a simple project. It was intended to be a common point of reference for family history and family lines tied to the Ishman ancestry beginning with Joseph & Rebecca (Hess) Ishman.
Through my personal searching on the Internet, I have discovered many others who are also interested in retracing their family lines, most of which can be traced back to the 13 children of Joseph & Rebecca Ishman.
I have personally spoken with several distant relatives over the phone, and have been in constant communication by email with several others, while there remain others that I have yet to connect with.
In addition to my own rewarding discoveries while researching my family history, I hope that this web site will eventually become a common point of reference for all Ishman's and the many family lines that have married into this family line over the years, and that all of us can benefit from the collective research conducted by each of those who have spent many hours searching link after link to find the furitful bits of information that help weave together the many lines of Ishman famlies that have spread throughout the United States. Although we are seperated by miles, we are forever connected by name, by blood, and by a common genealogy which may extend even beyond that of Joseph & Rebecca Ishman.
It is my hope that every Ishman can be documented, and that each family line be repersented in its proper location in relation to all the other Ishman family lines currently known and documented. It is for this reason that this web site exists, and also why it evolved from a simple project, to become:
