circlepicRoboNERD! is the current project of Tony Irvine, Crap Synth player. But his Obsession with Music dates back to the 1980’s, when he discovered Community Radio Station 5 MMM FM (Now 3D Radio). For five years, he insulted the Adelaide airwaves as both a late night and breakfast Announcer. But making music was what he wanted to do and with that in mind, he bought his first synths and drum machine...

He then co-founded Adelaide cult band Psychotronix, as Synth player/Vocalist. But after a few short months, the band split and he moved to Melbourne with the other Psychotronix synth player Chris Gaston. Things didn't work out so well for Chris who returned to Adelaide to continue with his Art/Music. But Tony continued on in Melbourne, as synth player/vocalist for Arty Fiscal, which lasted several incarnations and played in several states for the several years that it lasted in the early 90’s. He also did some work for Channel 31, writing several TV themes for some of their shows between 1997 and 2000.

In 1998, he formed out there Dance Duo “Harold & Cindy Hospital”, taking their name from the classic song from seminal electronic outfit Severed Heads, performing all over town and was also included in the Severed heads in house compilation “Mangled by the tools of Satan” back in 2002.

Videos (plural): I've posted an WMV file of our Noise TV performance back in September 2005. It clocks in at just under a meg in file size for those of you with crap modems (like me). I've also made a better quality version of the mp3 version, though it's still mono since it turns out it was recorded for Channel 31 that way.

Update: Recently Marita appeared on NATChat, talking about her solo stuff, the difficulties of songwriting amongst other things. You can visit the NATChat site, which has the entire video available for download (though at 48mb, you may either want broadband or be prepared for a LONG wait. And before you ask, the video's too big to be hosted here...).

Download our mp3 of "Dog food"

Or, conversely, you can check out the RoboNERD! Myspace site for a copy of some post Marita tunes (ie for FREE), primarily for other musicians to get an idea of the RoboNERD! Sound. Now you can hear them too! If you like them come see us play live... Though it's quite old, and don't have Marita playing on them. I do know that "life on the dole" can be streamed from the demus website...
