Important Stats

Here I'm going to cover what I know of stats and substats such as HIT and Flee.

Main Stats

STR is the strength of your character. It affects how much damage you can inflict on an opponent and how much you can carry.
AGI is the agility of your character. It affects both the ability to dodge and the attack speed of your character.
VIT is involved with your maximum HP, HP Recovery speed and your ability to reduce damage taken (DEF)
INT affects your max SP, SP recovery speed and your Mdef (defence from magical attack)
DEX affects your accuracy. It also increases attack speed and damage from missile weapons such as bows (Useful for Bow using thieves)
LUK affects your critical rate and your Perfect dodge

Substats

Critical is your % change of striking a critical blow against a target. This is doubled for Katar assassins but never shown in the stat window.
Critical hits are calcuated seperately from your hit, and before it. Even if you had a 0% change of hitting the target normally you can still land a critical hit.
Critical hits ignore defence.
Monster luk reduces your chance of landing a critical hit. Your chances are calcuated as
Critical - MonsterLuk/5

Your critical rate is calculated by:
1 +[luk/3] + cards

FLEE is your ability to dodge an opponent. It is divided into two components.
the stat window shows two parts to FLEE. Flee is the left hand component. The other part is Perfect Dodge.

No matter how high your Flee is, the most you can dodge a monster for is 95% of the time.

Flee is calculated by:

Base level + Agi + cards

A chart of Flee needed can be found here.

Perfect Dodge is the right hand part of your Flee stat. It is calcuated seperately from your normal Flee and before it. It is the Flee equivilant of a critical for hits Even if you had no chance to flee, you can still dodge. This is when the "lucky" bubble appears.
Perfect dodge also allows you to dodge a critical hit.

It is calcuated by 1PD for every 10 luk + 1 or 1+[luk/10] (which would be rounded down)

HIT is your ability to hit a target. It is calculated by your
Base level + DEX + cards.

A chart of how much hit you need to hit an opponent can be found here
