Minutes of the meeting held at Bangor Normal Site on 24th May (Ascension Day) 2001

Present John Reader (chair), Ian Carter (minutes), and six others - sorry I arrived late and forgot to send a list round!

The meeting focused on Foot and Mouth Those present invite written contributions on issues regarding Foot and Mouth BY THE BEGINNING OF JULY 2001  (to be sent to John Reader for editing with help from Ian Ball, for publication in book form, providing we can get a little sponsorship).  Some broad parameters suggested, within which content might focus are:-

  1. Fears / suspicions / conspiracies
  2. Transparency of systems
  3. Defining / observing / creating the processes or chaotic influences.
  4. Democracy
  5. Impact on expectations.
  6. Projections.
  7. How do we make judgments - basis of response.
  8. Personal development
  9. Education
  10. Paradigm shift.

We invite "standalone" papers - we want the variation this gives, but reserve editorial control to John.  Some aspects that may be considered within each paper are:-

  1. Influence policy debate
  2. Telling stories
  3. Reflections

I'm sorry that these notes are a little chaotic, I'll try not to come so many times past Safeway next time!
