For
its efforts in addressing the themes of poverty reduction,
gender, environment, and peace, the local government of Ipil
was awarded the “Kaagapay Seal of Excellence in Local
Governance” by the Philippines-Canada Local Government Support
Program (LGSP) in posh ceremonies at the Davao Convention
Center.
Municipal
administrator Eleanor Funda-Sardual, representing Mayor Rey
Andre Olegario, received the award from Department of Interior
and Local Government Secretary Angelo Reyes. Full

Tackling the waste challenge
Town
officials are working on the waste problem by putting waste to
work.
They are
doing this by introducing a systematic method of managing
waste using a four step process: segregation, collection,
recovery, and disposal.
