Who are you?

If it isn't obvious by now, my name is Mike Treder. I'm the son of Betty and David, father of Aria, brother to John, Jeff, Susie, Janet, Mary, and Steve.

What does your email address "iph1954" stand for?

"iph" stands for incipient posthuman. 1954 is, of course, the year of my biological birth.

Why did you make this website?

Because it looked a fun challenge, which it has been; because I wanted a place where I can share what I have learned about what I love with whomever is interested; because I wanted to create a way for our extended family to share memories, ideas, and experiences; and because I knew I would learn a lot by doing it.

Are you a professional web designer?

If I was, this site would probably look a lot better and would have taken a lot less time to develop. But I'm sure having fun with it. My professional background is in sales and marketing. I spent almost 20 years in the advertising industry, so I've been able to apply some of those talents here.

What program did you use? Do you know HTML?

I know a little about HTML but I'm certainly not any kind of an expert. To develop this site, I used a free program from Yahoo called PageBuilder. It's not a very sophisticated web design tool, but for this job it was adequate.

How long did it take you?

From the original concept until it was ready to go online, a total of about 50 hours spread over two weeks. All the areas are not yet complete, so I'll be spending many more hours on this labor of love over the coming weeks, months, and years.

Are you open to suggestions?

Of course. Feel free to send your feedback, both positive and negative.

Can I contribute? Can I help?

The answer is yes and yes! The value of this site will grow exponentially as more people contribute. In particular, please send your scanned or digital photos (along with a description of what they are), send your personal biography or your version of family history, send your favorite recipes, your favorite wise sayings, your book and movie reviews, or anything else you would like to share with the rest of us.

Do I have to be part of the Treder family to participate?
