| Brownlee Reservoir- Brownlee is located in eastern Oregon on the snake river and is a fairly large reservoir, over 15,000 acres of surface space. With over 5 species of gamefish any fisherman would be satisfied here. Smallmouth Bass aren't to picky about flies and Trout fishing is good in the winter near the dam. The best fishing will require a boat, but you can still do good without one. ODF&W has a mercury contamination concern, we encourage catch & release anyway. The best time to fish Brownlee is May-October. If you don't have a boat fish off the Snake River Road on the Oregon side. Suggested gear is as follows: 4-6 wt Rods, Float tube & Waders Flies: Buggers, Zonkers, Clousers, Bead Head Prince, Crayfish, and Popping bugs. Varying the size of the flies from #2-#10. Species:Crappie, SM Bass, LM Bass, Catfish, Bluegill, Rainbow Trout. |
