[Stardate 238103.02] Ensign Iswarya was assigned to Starbase 118 Ops as Chief Science Officer.

[Stardate 238103] When Iswarya arrived, the base was in chaos, and some of the senior officers were locked in the holodeck. She was assigned with the job of finding a way to open the holodeck doors without damage. While she was working in Engineering, however, another fact became apparent. There was a spy among them, who had taken a shot at the second officer, Lt Cmdr Waltas. She then became suspicious of Ensign Drew, an engineer. Her suspicions were confirmed when he discreetly tried to prevent her from repairing some of the damage the spies had done to the base. Working together with Waltas, and using him as a "bait", they were able to apprehend him. Iswarya saved Waltas's life during this ordeal. However, it turned out that Ensign Drew was a highly sophisticated hologram with his own holoemitter, sent by the Romulan Espionage. They were able to recover the codes for unlocking the doors from his holomatrix, and they were able to open the holodeck doors, and retrieve the crew-members after a hair-raising journey through the program which contained vampires in the 19th century london.

[Stardate 238104] Right after they rescued the crew-members, it turned out that a virus was infecting the base's computers. Iswarya then worked around the clock to combat the virus, which had acquired Borg programming, and regeneraton sequences through merger a Borg Spinal column. After trying many methods, Iswarya finally settled for one: peace. She and Lt Cmdr Garrett established contacts with the worm, which had acquired sentience. She negotiated with it, asking it to leave the base's mainframe to take up residence in an isolated computer, which would be left on Haven, a planet which housed the victims of the original biological version of this virus. The virus agreed, and the base was finally free of the infection.

[Stardate 238106] Captain Nekkar initiated a terraforming project on a planet, Bova III. As a part of this, the case crew travelled to the planet to check it out for themselves. Lt Cmdr Waltas, Iswarya, Lilly Evergreen and Professor James beamed down to the planet. However, it became apparent that they were not alone on this planet. Creatures called Wraiths lived here, protecting an ancient "treasure". They terrorised the away team, in efforts to drive them away from the treausre. However, the transporters had malfunctioned during the eventful transport down the surface, and even shuttles sent to the surface were destroyed by storms. Iswarya managed to make brief contact with the wraiths, but that was broken when the wraiths thought they meant to harm them. Eventually, the away team ran out of oxygen, and passed out, just as Discovery finally managed to get transporters back online and transport them to the surface. The crew went back to the base.

[Stardate 238108] Iswarya was reassigned temporarily to a science vessel assigned to the terraforming project.

[Stardate 238109.07] Promoted to Lieutenant jg.

[Stardate 238111]
Iswarya was able to uncover the secret behind the presence of wraiths on the otherwise uninhabited Bova III. Six thousand years ago, a race called the Fri'Kar had foreseen their extinction, and erected a museum which preserved and exhibited everything about their culture and civilisation, so that a future descendant might be able to recreate their world. The serpents and wraiths were nothing more than guards to this "treasure" of theirs. However, when she broke the news to the "guards", they "died", as they no longer had any purpose to live for. Iswarya could do nothing but to beam up every artifact and send it to a Federation museum. Her duty being done, she returned to the base.

As soon as she came back, Iswarya was told to join the away team on Prenoek VI, attempting to recover missing escape pods which had crashed on a planet bearing a pre-warp civilisation. The environment was nothing short of hostile, with armies and rebel groups on every side. Iswarya found a Prenoekatian girl-child hiding in an abandoned theatre, whom she took to immediately. However, when the girl found out that they were aliens, she ran away from them, eventually meeting Lt Cmdr Garrett. After several excursions, the group was able to destroy all the escape-pods, and beam back upto surface.

[Stardate 238201.28] Promoted to Lieutenant (full)

[Stardate 238203] An anomaly appeared around Starbase 118 - a huge purple gas cloud, with three objects inside in perfect triangular formation. Eventually, it was discovered that this anomaly was actually Ares, the space-vessel of a race called Domans, who had sent out an unmanned flight out to space. Diplomacies between the two sides turned into hostilities, as the Domans demanded live specimens for their studies. The two sides exchanged many shots, before calling for peace and resolving the matter with an offering of uranium fuel and repairs, in exchange for them leaving the base alone.
