RULES
OMG, RULES!
Yes, unfortunately, we have to have a list of rules because a lot of people in MS just don't know how to conduct themselves. Having a list of rules means people can't act inappropriatly and then say 'i didn't know i wasn't allowed to do that'. As it stands, these are the guild rules.

01. You must be legit. Hackers will not be accepted into the guild. Once you are a guild member, if you begin to hack, we will throw you out. We take notice of people's levels daily and if you gain a strange amount of levels in a short period of time we'll boot you without even discussing it with you. We're not stupid enough to have to talk to you about it if you were a lvl 34 yesterday and a lvl 48 today. XD

02. You must speak English. It doesn't have to be your native language and you don't have to master it, you just have to be able to communicate decently with fellow guildmates. If you can't talk to us and we can't talk to you... there really is no point in you being in the guild other than to make your character look cool.

03. It is your responsibility to know the guild rules and to follow them. We have a guild forum, online blogs and myself and the JRS have contact information posted. If you choose not to use these means to speak with us about any questions, problems or whatever... that's not really our fault. It's also up to you to check the forum and site for any changes, discussions and voting going on within the guild (though announcements are always made on the guild BBS on MS).

04. If you don't participate in discussions or take part in voting, don't complain to us afterward if changes were made that you don't approve of or weren't aware of. While we're always willing to hear everyone out and take everyone's opinions into consideration, after the fact it's kind of null and void. Speak up to us, give suggestions, ask for changes... help us make this an even better guild. Please don't just complain after the fact.

05. You must be an active player. If you logon once every other month... that's not what we consider active. At a minimum, we'd like to see guildmates online twice a week. However, if you're having problems at work, a family crisis, a big test coming up in school etc.- we're completely understanding of that. Be sure to let me or a JR know that you're taking a MS break so your character is not at risk for being removed from the guild (or leave a post on the forum/BBS). If we don't see you online for an undetermined length of time (approximately two weeks to one month), we will likely remove you from the guild. There is no guarantee that you will be granted re-entry to the guild. It is up to you to let us know when you're taking a MS leave, we're not mind readers. Otherwise we can only assume that you've quit Mapling.

06. Manners count. Do not call each other names, do no type in all caps, do not talk down to or in a degrading manner to anyone- BE MATURE. No racial slurrs, no homophobic banter, no lame cracks about gender and how much you hate men/women. Leave your personal hatred out of the game, MS is not the place to be going off and forcing people to hear your views. After all, you never know who is sitting on the other side of the screen and may be offended by what you say.

07. Don't fight. If someone upsets you, be the bigger person and just stop talking. Do, however, bring problems to my (and/or JRS) attention. Take a screenshot of all conversations and arguements that take place having to do with the problem so the appropriate actions can be taken. You must have screenshots of an incident or we can't act as it just becomes he-said/she-said bullshit and we can't believe one person's word over another. Have proof of your complaint. Send your screenshots to me (email address in the contact page).

08. Be helpful. You can pwn jr neckis and wraiths like a mofo but that poor lvl 24 warrior in the guild can't. If you're not busy and can help someone else out, please do. That's one of the things that makes this guild so great, the willingness to lend a hand to friends. It's appreciated by all.

09. Don't beg. Asking for help or asking if anyone has a certain item they don't need is fine but don't be a lazy ass and expect everyone else to do the work for you all the time. Repetative asking (after you've already been answered) and downright begging for mesos, items, etc is grounds for deranking or other disciplinary actions.

10. We (me and the JRS) reserve the right to remove problem members or derank people as we see necessary. People that disobey rules and go out of their way to cause drama may also even be suspended for a period of time. In more dire circumstances, may even be subject to a guild defaming. We base our decisions on the overall happiness of the guild, not the happiness of any single member. Furthermore, it is imperative that all JRS understand that under NO circumstances are members to be removed from the guild without it having been discussed with me. I have the final say on if someone should be removed or not.
