The FAQ!
Everything you ever wanted to know and then some.
01. Doku? Shiraku? ...Adoriah?! WHAT?!
Yes, Doku is in fact Dokukyo, Shiraku and Adoriah.
02. Don't you think the rules are a bit strict? And there's so many of them!
They're there for a reason. Thanks to some immature and idiotic members of the past, we have to lay everything out so there is no confusion. There are many rules because we had to try to think ahead and cover any incident that may occur. As for rather the rules are strict or not, I don't think they are. Be courteous and you won't have to worry about it at all.
03. A guildmate has been fighting with me but I don't have a screenshot of it. My friend saw the whole thing, though. What are you going to do about it?
Nothing. Sorry about your luck but we need proof to do anything. It's my experience that people will lie for each other or back a friend up even if they aren't necessarily the one in the right. Even if your friend is a guildmate, sorry. You must have a screenshot.
04. Who is this 'Blue' person and why do you people keep talking about him?
Former guildmate, AtuinBlue, is a great person and was a wonderful contributer to the guild. He has since left Ikichi and went on to form his own guild, KageRyuujin. Ikichi and KageRyuujin are affiliated and I am proud to have helped sponsor his guild funding. ^_^
05. Can I be a JR Master?
Probably not. Chances are, if you have to ask, the answer is no. Normally I ask people that I consider reliable for the position, or someone is nominated.
06. But I REALLY want to be a JR! What do I have to do to be one?
First of all, you must be someone that I have contact with outside of MapleStory. Some of my JRS I have never met but they are people I speak to in email, IM, text messages, postal mail and the like. These people I consider reliable, easy to contact, mature and fair in judgement as well as frequent (daily) MS players. In order to be a JR you must meet all the requirements above. You also have to have been in the guild for over two months so we can get to know you and you can get to know us. Furthermore, we have to need another JR. I feel we are sufficiently staffed at the current time and we are not accepting any more JRS at this moment.
07. Do I have to join the guild forum?
If you're a JR, yes. If you're not, you don't *have* to but it's highly encouraged. The forum is fun, and it's an easy way to talk about important guild issues, new or alterated rules, and it's where announcements and information is always placed. Off topic (subjects not related to MapleStory) posts are welcomed in the forum as well so it leaves the possibilities open and endless. It's a great way to get to know each other outside the game and to talk without interrupting your training.
08. How do I join the forum?
It's pretty simple but can be a little confusing when you first start using GuildCafe. You first need to go HERE and create an account. Fill out your information, list Ikichi on the Bellocan server as your guild under your gaming history section and then follow the link from MY PROFILE (under 'gaming history') that says "Ikichi is recruiting". This link will take you to a page where you can fill out an application to join the forum. Once I have recieved the application, I will approve it. Alternately, you may add me as your friend from MY PROFILE. I will be alerted that someone has added me and I will therefor be aware that you have made an account at GuildCafe. I can then add you manually to the forum.
Please contact me if you have any problems signing up for the forum, I can assist. Also please note, it is most helpful if your account name is the same as your main character. It keeps down the confusion and makes it easier for everyone to identify each other, especially for guild newcomers.
09. I've seen you recruiting and looking for people over age 25 to join the guild. Aren't some of the guild members younger than that?
Yes. Though that may seem like a contradiction, there's a good reason for that. Our younger members joined the guild before I started looking specifically for older members. Also, though I want older members, exceptions can be made. The reason I started recruiting for a specific age bracket was because it seemed like there were a lot of younger people that were very immature joining the guild and that caused a lot of tension and fighting among people. Having said that, I realize that not everyone that's younger is immature. One of our guildmates is thirteen years old and he's one cool guy. So, yes, I look for older members, but I will accept younger members if they are mature, nice and don't type "lyke dis 2 sum1".
10. What's the guild store all about?
Generally, I have a guild store from time to time, where I sell the items I've gathered from guildmates. Items are usually donated so the profits are used for guild expansions or for fellow members who need some extra mesos. If I have the space, I'm happy to sell items for guildmates without making a profit. Guild members are not obligated to donate items or mesos to the guild, but it's a nice gesture when people do so and it all goes back into the guild and helping guildmates.
11. Why do you have two pages? That seems pretty stupid.
Screwed up stats on the first one, I played it until lvl 46 before I realized how badly I'd messed it up. And yes, I know, pages are the worst class. I hear it all the time, please stop telling me. I personally love my (second) page and I think they're the BEST class. It's all about personal preference, I can't be convinced otherwise, sorry.
12. What are The Epic Adventures? Can I be in the video with you?
The Epic Adventures is the title of the on-going guild video series. I film, edit and compile the footage. If you're a guildmate, you're welcome to participate as long as we can work it into the current plotline and you can be online at the times when we film. You can find The Epic Adventures on YouTube.
13. Will you change my rank?
Rankings are a Guildmasters nightmare. Everyone wants to be JRS, and if they can't be, they want the next highest rank. This is the thing that has caused me the most headaches. Aside from being a JR, the other ranks have no special priveledges or advantages. People that aren't in the guild can't see your rank, and within the guild, ranks don't get you treated any better or differently. I just can't get what all the fuss is about. Ranks can be changed and adjusted, based on certain criteria. (Please read the 'ranking system' page.) If you've been in the guild for a while and feel you meet the criteria for a rank promotion and it's not been done, please let me or a JR know. Personally, I don't think much about ranks, so it's possible I may overlook a due promotion without realizing it.
14. Can a few of my friends join the guild?
Are they mature and active players? Are they friendly? Do they speak english well? If the answer to all those questions is yes, they are welcome to join if there is room.
15. I'm having a problem with a JR Master. What do I do?
JRS aren't exempt from disciplinary action, they have to follow the same rules as everyone else. There have been times in the past where the "power" has gone to previous JRS heads and made them act out in ways that I do not approve of. If you're having a problem, follow the same precedure as you would with a member: screencap the conversations and send the photos to me. People don't get special treatment just because of being a JR.
