We've been around for several years, although for about the last three or four years our activity has dropped due to changes of administration. We hope that this coming school year, 2008-9, activity will increase back to something resembling its former glory.

We are a social group for swing dancers and anyone who wants to learn to swing dance. We offer lessons at the beginning of our meetings for those who don't know the dances or just want to practice and improve their moves, and members are encouraged to teach more complicated moves on a one-on-one basis after lessons. We also offer open dancing after the lessons.

Members have special priveleges, including the right to vote on proposed activities, budget expenses, and future officers. Becoming a member is easy: Show up, sign a waiver (essentially stating that you are participating at your own risk), and pay your membership dues. Membership dues are $20/year ($10/semester) with an ISU Student, Faculty/Staff, or Alumni I.D., or $25/year ($12.50/semester) for community members--this is for 30 weeks of dancing. Membership also includes other benefits such as reduced prices for events and Club merchandise.

Alternatively, if you choose not to become a member, it is $1/person or $1.75/couple with Student, Faculty/Staff, or Alumni I.D., or $1.50/person or $2.50/couple for community members per night you attend. If you do the math, this amounts to $45/person individually or $37.50/person in couples for 30 weeks of dancing.

If you are a registered member of another swing organization, e.g. BYU-I's Swing Kids, and you are NOT teaching with us, it is $1/person $1.75/couple to dance with us. Members of other swing organizations, whether University-based or otherwise, can also become members of ISU's Swing Club for the same cost as ISU Students.
