Diary Week Twelve
Day 78
|
Friday, 1st October, 2004However, as usual, I found myself running out of the door with a slice of bread in hand, finishing off my breakfast. This time, all four of them were there so I went through much of the same stuff as Wednesday, explaining what I was doing in Trelew, what I thought would be interesting in the class and asking them for their input. Between the five of us, we sort of hammered out a course for them to follow for the next few weeks, and had some cakes to celebrate someone graduating! After the class, I went back home to try and finish off the translation that I was doing for both Esyllt and the Museum and for Lorena and the Forum on Welsh Research - both of which were being done, but were very, very hard! That took up most of the afternoon, finishing off bits and pieces, getting them ready for the real experts (i.e. the people who can actually write in Spanish and Welsh!) to get them ready for use. That meant that I was running late to meet Emma at 6 from the airport, and spent ten minutes waiting outside the taxi rank for a free cab. I neednt have worried as I turned up in the nick of time, a minute before she came through the exit at the airport, meaning that we were able to make a quick get-away and get back to town. We dumped her stuff in the house and gave her the chance for a lie-down while I went off to the final folk dancing practice before tomorrow nights concert. I didnt do any dancing, as I wouldnt be doing anything in the concert, so it was nice just to see how it looked as an observer - are those dances really less than 3 minutes?! It feels like they go on for ever when youre doing them! Going back home, I shook Emma out of her sleep (well, youd be knackered if youd travelled for 36 hours, wouldnt you!) and dragged her up the street to Margaritas for dinner. We got a seat near the door and ordered a pizza and some coke, sitting down and reminiscing and realising that we hadnt seen each other for three months. Three months? Have I really been here for three months?! Emma was still very, very tired, so after finishing the food we went off home for a sleep.
