The Hidden Magickal Pathway

We are born magickal. We are aware of the other worlds as childeren. Imaginary friends are real. Faries and ghosts are easily seen. Healing occurs with but a kiss. The image above is like the images we make of ourselves when we play role playing characters. This enters us into a trance like state, much like going to the movies or reading a book. We become the archetypal hero of our own myth.

Role playing allows us to tap into the resevoirs of our potential. Explore safely the aspects of ourselves that we would otherwise not try. But also it exercises our imagination which is key to ritual and magick. There is also a certain level of role playing that can get a life of it's own and tap into a reality that touches who we are and our lives. Star Wars and the concept of the force is one example and so is the adventures of Star Trek and their society that have touched hundreds of millions of people. Today The Matrix is the next mythic series that is touching us and we want to role play in the universe that they have created.
For those games which are more mature in it's themes like the system from White-wolf. There is a rich diversity of archetypes and parallels to our own life and world.
There was a game I did with several of my friends that tapped into something deeper. Everyone seemed to make characters that represented their past lives. The game ended up addressing issues from each of their pasts that brought them into the present. It was a truely rich game. It is a good example of how the two can cross.
There are also Live Action role Playing games which you can be supernatural creatures and do magickal rituals within the context of the game... this also is where magick and role playing can cross. When you do find the character and setting that you connect with, just as in a pagan ritual, the symbology connects with your subconscious and magick becomes more easily accessable.
This isn't for everyone. It is just what I have found along the way in my life...
