25th July
Who can understand the stress I'm going thru now?! All that boonkiat's fault! Made me feel so left behind and so ashame of myself. Then got Azhar ICA this wed, I'm doing studio directing which is the most stressful job and muz do really well bcos my first ICA only scored 50/100. ARGH! die le die le.

For all you JC ppl, if u think poly not stress, think again! I think I'm losing weight... Maybe I played too much during the sem so now very stress bcos got 4 modules to chiong. Really hope this Thursday will pass by soon then can concentrate on the sem papers. That soo siew lee gave generic overview again, means no tips. VC has an entire textbook to read and cramp into my brain. Not that its impossible bcos the 2 Marianne Cheongs are much worse but the results of studying everything is always not satisfactory.

Then today Wang lao shi and Lee lao shi (both CO instructors in my sec sch and now oso coaching NYP) toking abt why they prefer to teach secondary school. Primary school easily spoil instruments and use the dizi (flute) to fight, very noisy. Poly too slack... Then he say the St Nicks girls very pia also, den a cat high sheng player oso v. pia. But still a far way frm hwa cheong cos they got take extra tuition for CO. still can't freaking believe chsco still prac every morning at 7am for esplanade. Like this sure improve v. fast de... kinda feel obliged to watch esplanade concert this year cos is derrick n justin last yr le.

23rd July
Just finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince... ended the week of spoiler torture and people teasing to tell me who died and Boonkiat's "McGonagall killed Mrs Figgs!" joke. The following review will contain no spoiler, just my general feeling of the book:

As JK Rowling has said, its very closely linked to the 2nd book which is very true. This book talks more about trust and the building of suspension to the death of the someone... dreadful~ Depressing... and the revelation of the Half-Blood Prince. The story of the half-blood prince exist in almost every school bully. 

The book left a lot, A LOT of suspense for the next book. Harry embarks on a journey to destroy he-who-must-no-be-named (duh! rite, final book of the series mah!) and evolved into an adult and somewhat... Frodo-like. JK Rowling tied up a lot of loose ends and back story, Voldemort's origins and how he went to the Dark Side from Tom Riddles to Lord Voldemort etc. I hope the final installment will be longer than OotP, preferably 1000+ pages! 

I think the final book will be sooo euphoric and paranoid! Imagine the book industry without any more Potters, can close down le. Da Vinci Code don't even come close to this. Besides the enchanting story, its the marketing that made the book so successful. The single-mother struggling to raise her child and writing a book about a teenager. Then the very powerful marketing of having millions of books launched at a single time! Minimal leakage and spoilers (Survivor done it,  why not a book?) The logistics and security of so many books shipped all over the world (including India and China this time) and to prevent pirated copies is just admirable. 

Have to wait another 2-3 years until the final book and hopefully I have time while being in NS to queue and read. 

22nd July
Went to block M studio today, really big and really high tech, Azhar say its better than Mediacorp's studio. We were all really so appalled and ecstatic when we went in there. 

Met Swee Kuan with her gf at Bugis Junction. Yelled his name from the escalator... It was that guilt feeling since VJ. He looked like he got a lot to talk to me but bcos got girl around arh, so become 'stranger' again. I hate this feeling!!! At that point I really just wanted to walk straight to him and talk like we used to but... I think he was thinking the same ba. 

Then in the evening met up with Mel, Bert, KO, Vincent, Boonzkit, Samuel and Eugene to go drama fest at NAFA. The answer to why it's held at NAFA auditorium was revealed by mneo... the NAFA president is old-boy. The stage is dam cool, middle can rotate and go up and down. The top can hang a LOT of things, totally kool, the auditorium. 

First was a super cheem play by CLDDS... dunno is my chinese deprove or the show is really too cheem to understand. Even mel cannot figure it out, den later Suah explained a bit. Then ELDDS was unconventional, interesting, good acting but a bit the luan at times. Then had some political jokes... story about this loser teenager. He doesn't play the piano, is not in the Integrated Programme, wear green shorts *lolx and not as rich as AZS. Then had Tampines Sec Sch guest performing... same scriptwriter and their script was much simpler but Mel they all say very good, better than CHS de. I'm not drama de... so haha~ 

Then the last CLDDS play was about Su Dong Po! Oh no, its that same play I've seen so many times thruout the 4 yrs... but no, this time Lu Qin and LinDanwen made it different. Made it comical, Su Dong Po actually drinks coke, alot of lame jokes, one of them did TUO DIAO and vincent was cringing. Then the final blow was when they all sang "lao shu ai da mi" and boonkiat like "time to go home!" It really dampened the mood, melvin din do school cheer...

After the show Mneo looked for us, so we all went to the stage. Awkward silence, like so much to say but dunno where to start. We jus all stood in a circle, great feeling to be all back together but awkward. Took photos, bert eased the atmosphere a little, boonzkit keep telling me that McGonagall killed Mrs Figgs! ARGH~! Then searched 40 mins for somewhere to sit. Boonzkit keep saying wanna go ChinaBlack... and dance using liquid paper. Cos they're all in NJ and AJ uniform except we 2 poly students. We criticised our own poly school system, orientation, SPSS and SU... haha~ Almost said bad abt everything except the course, friends, food and timetable. It's good to have him la, at least I won't feel left out when the rest talking about stats and math paper and common tests and SPA. Freak man, his GPA 3.85 !!! 

Sat down at CoffeeBean, seems to be our usual hang out nowadays cos it opens past midnight and we always hang out so late. Old memories of maurice cheong, he still owe us our sec 3 SS test paper... now still haven give us back! haha. Then melvin say I become thinner... ya I finally receive the msg and realise I lost weight ba. Unbelievable rite...

18th July
Now not even halfway through Harry Potter, so please do not give me spoiler. Justin Zicheng and Anthony came my house today. Anthony came back from America, after his migration 1.5 years ago. So this is the first time we all really get together and play mahjong for a looong time. The feeling is so great! Can't read potter but its still worth it.

Then went to causeway point, ate KFC. Spilled my water, opps! The uncle so kind gave me another drink. Cos the KFC table really small, can't put 2 trays side by side lah. After that walk walk and came to S&K which I bought a pair of shoe at $15! Last day clearance sale, can't believe I'm attracted to this. But the price is irresistible!

Great day! Hopefully it'll be a great week ahead!

16th July
What a magical day! On the news every channel, running and screaming "first guy first guy!" and everyone show saw started messaging me. After dinner with Terrence, I went to meet Teckie n her frens at Kino - Yi Rong, Vanessa and Cindy. Then Teckie and I went to queue at 8pm. We were 3rd and 4th on the queue, with the RGS girl YunEr at the front. She quite weird and anti-social. Nicole from St Teresa was 2nd, immediately became friends and talked. Her parents Then more RGS girls came but they all reading magazines and books. Nicole's fren came and it was so crowded. By 11pm it had about 50 people in the queue. The counter people all dress up in robes and one was Hagrid! Then one of the St Teresa girl was taller than Hagrid, haha so funny! By then Chin Teck was 9th, I was 10th. But all 9 ahead of me were girls. The few behind me were guys... so ya "first guy first guy!!!"

Then we shifted into the store and this guy Max was showing off his card magic tricks. Super cool, like David Blaine. But he hates david blaine, haha and he set his wallet on fire (which u see on CNA n Ch5). This malay girl, super potter fan, answer every trivia question and so enthu! Some guys from International school we met also, so fun!  

I think there's a band... women from the UrbanXchange, quite good. Then got those pian xiao hai zi trivia and games and teach you how to swish n flick! Time passed by quite quickly and by 5.20am, got more people who joined in the queue from 1st MRT train and all. Got Milo cereals and drinks, really good lo! So much better than Popular 2 years ago, no hype nothing and they abuse the books! Then more reporters and tv crew came. The cameramen on one event left his camera on the floor and disappeared, was so shocked. Then the correspondent asked Max to do the trick. Cameramen not ready, so ask him to again, the rest all ask him to stand up but she said "No, you have to sit down or it'll be a jump cut." Then I looked gleefully at Chin Teck, haha jump cut jump cut!!!

30 minutes, the queue extended and everyone was standing up. 20 minutes, we did the Potter wave and chanted "WE WANT HARRY! WE WANT HARRY!" 10minutes, Reporters interviewing, the rest all packing up and getting the money ready. 7am, one more minute! Everyone getting ready, counter all ready. 

30...20...10...5...4...3...2...1! AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Scream and jump and hug and jump and scream! Really like 6 year old kid liddat! The looong wait and suspense of what will happen finally out. I'm sure every bookstore around the world also same! They gave out free "I bought my Harry Potter at Borders" tshirt to the first 10 customers! So I got one... haha~! Someone paid and never took the change, the counter gal was like "She went without taking the change!"

Er... who carez? The book more important ma. Then Chin Teck started running out of the book store and screaming she got the book! I and Misa also did the same, haha, so excited. Then the correspondent ask us to run again one more time so that the camera can capture us. We went back to the counter, then run again! The run you saw on tv was an re-enactment! Hahaha...

Met Nicole and her parents, they're really nice people. Hope to see them again on the last book. Then met Max and his friend, his friend OCBC card bounced at the counter. Super sad!!! Queue for 10 hours and now cannot get to read, if its me I'll burn down OCBC and scream at them la... Then talked to Misa on the way to mrt, she's called Julie... haha, she cosplay Misa very alike! 

Then separated on MRT, then a lot of people on MRT reading the book and now I'm only 1/6 through. Impossible to finish within 2 days because my mum keep switching onto the news, the sms and all. All the special thanks to JK Rowling, Borders, Chin Teck, Max, Misa and everyone whom I've met! 

It's truly been a magical day! 

14th July
It's been a week since I know this great friend called Terrence through debates... a very rare friend to come by and we've got endless advices to share with each other. Must thank Eve for going SU, so I was waiting for Eve and met up with Terrence n his gang and then started this friendship de. So the week has been great~!

Today tok abt BGR with eve kk syaz and yiting. Maxine regretted not being there, haha. Eve suaned by abt not having gf, den i suaned her by saying she too many bf, too buaya. 

Next week got jap test... oh no! This weekend I wanna read harry potter de~! Arrr... how how how? Yuko sensei very cute, she say "I scare you, test very hard" but I still gonna camp for harry overnight tmr. Better pack my bag~

13th July
Had studio directing today and Azhar recorded my directing, so I can't wait to see the results! I did put down a lot of notes on the paper so everything went smoothly except for my super loud voice! Sorry to all the cameramen and FM, cos I use the mic on my com oso stick very close to it. Sorry!
Went to Borders wif teckie to order Harry Potter! YAY! so excited and I can't wait... now reading GoF again but reading very slow leh. Tried to guess the number of bretty botts all flavoured beans in the jar, no idea how many it has! Then went to kino and checked out the mangas. 
Must prepare for friday, camp outside Borders!!!

10th July
Went out with lihui, syaz and KK to cosfest 2005 where there were sooo many people. Chin Teck and Dionne took part as well, amazing to see so many cosplayers. Some of them are really good, especially Oni who cosplayed as the elvis in Shaman King. The Battle Royale team was also very good, I really want to watch the show. The predator was the best, everywhere he went had cameras following him. There was Batman vs Predator scene, haha. The seigaku tshirt so ex~! Haix.

5 more days to Harry Potter~! Gonna queue on fri at Borders, dun care! Tomorrow will start reading GoF and then OotP and hopefully finish by Sat. So this weekend is booked out by HBP. woahaha~

Next weekend also booked out. Friday is drama fest at NAFA auditorium, dun ask me why its there. Siao arh $12, but since mneo org de den support her lo. Long time never see melvin also~ 

Then Sat shld be going HCJC where my debates juniors will be there. Shawn and I jus tok to bryan, tell him not to slack and muz win the thing. Desperate situation may call for desperate measures. 

7th July
Poor London kena bombed, only got to know a few hours ago. Darn those terrorists! Today I pon ST Lim's class with Teckie to go SYF CO presentation. Took many by surprise, haha. Anyway, saw Jackson, WeiGuo and couple more friends in the CO arena, like a big family. Nanyang Girls were dam good!!! Their choice piece addicted into my head liaoz, ahhh! Then NJC was also good, wong zhi guang conduct, very cute! I told Teckie he look like fat swan, cos he was dressed in white. The moment he appear on stage, everyone started laughing, especially his St Nick suona Girls.

I saw Long lao shi and Yiang Hoon... what is Yiang Hoon doing there?! CO and band is well water no reach river water wan! Muz be a spy sent by hak boon bah, to watch RV NYGH and DHS. Too bad it's not a finals because of the change to gold w honors. So today quite sianz, hwa cheong (sec) din perform, TJC din perform.

We had the seats W1 and W2, but someone else sat on the seats. Teckie asked if they got the wrong seats, they showed us their tix W1 W2! Aiyo, sistic so lousy, duplicated tickets~ pengz! 

Anyway, really had a great time watching the concert.

6th July
DAVID BECKHAM!!! He's dam shuai la, and dam tall, altho the hairstyle dunno why make him look so boyish n some say nerdy. Maybe its the ashton cutcher trend or something... haha~! The entire NYP was at the atrium awaiting his arrival, luckily I got to see him in the auditorium. He was presenting an award to the NYAA outstanding service award to SP lecturer... lame rite but doesn't matter, its him whom we all want to see. 

Though security very tight, but some guy managed to run to his front n beg him for autograph. Everyone else was pulling that guy lah. Den yiting said a girl was crying outside because her seat was taken away after she left temporarily. Cry for an hour~!  It's paranoia for everyone lah, scream scream scream. Then when he sat down in the auditorium, he can only look straight, once he turn everyone will start standing up and snapping pictures! Pity him man...~ 

He made a small speech, about his dream as a kid to play for Man Utd and be the captain of England. It's all part of the Olympic's theme lah, Olympics for the kids. There's a video asking the kids who are 14 what they'll do if London wins 2012, where they will be 21. Some said want to be reporter, some said medallists etc, its sooo... "I can be an astronomer, if you can teach me how"

Watched the Nagoya Jap Percussion concert, very nice! They mix asian and western percussion together, very entertaining. The girl had very good stage presence, can hit the drums really well!

LONDON 2012! I was more interested in the presentation video, cos im media student mah. The singapore video has too much skyline, not enough people and life... quite boring. The Paris one has a lot of people, very vibrant. The best is London video, very funny! The car mechanics had a metal pole between 2 tires and started weight lifting! The girl was doing hopscotch then suddenly did gymnastics. The best was the construction worker, use the stick for pole vault! So funny! And the background song very nice also:

4th July
Youth day... but there's still school for me and project presentations some more. What a sad life... but muz have a life, so went to Pastamania with eve, syaz, yiting and kk. Just a normal eat out and chill out thing, dunno why kk so sianz today, i organise an eat out oso cannot, haix. All daniel poh's fault lah~! lolx...

Then kk said something so appalling, next sem he gonna join arshad's clique! WHAT THE FREAK?! Got liddat wan arh, this sem with you, next sem with somebody else... and F the clique thing~! It's like mon,wed,fri go to Girl A, tues,thurs,sat go to Girl B. What does he take us for, im so utterly disappointed in this friendship, treat us all like what?! commodities? Still can set expiry date some more!  

Eve was making a list for bbq but has an exclusive invitation list. This clique dun like that clique, can hop from clique to clique some more. Mus everything be so abrasive and chaotic? 

Luckily I was able to find peace in CO today... Zhi Guang (Cat High suona lao shi), haha he called me ar-li-ke-si again~! Made the same joke for 3 years liaoz, but he say my posture go back to the wrong position 3 years ago also. Aiyo~ haha, but had the full strength of 5 suona today, very noisy! There's minimal cliques, politics, fights but more fun, laughter and joy together.

Which concert gives the winners recording contracts, gives the audience Ipod mini and brings the hall down?! Cat High Music Award 2005!

1100 tickets all sold out! GREAT JOB! Apart from the air con (Hak Boon you *toot!) and the bad start, the show was great. I'm so glad I pushed aside everything for this... The ticket got nicer, I luv the key chain. The lighting equipments were WHOA! But abit too much, esp the flashing.

The soloists were quite bad, compared to last year Justin Jap and Andrew Tan standard. Instrumentalists are much much better, the electone was fabulous! Over the Century... wow, felt like I was on a helicopter ride seeing grasslands and mountains. I wanna learn the electone!!! Kenneth Kang said it felt like fighting RPG last stage boss, Bert said it was... er i forgot. But wow, this is the first time I 'see' visuals with such powerful music.

The sound was a bit soft, the video was fairly ok (from a media student's view). Mark Tan's 1st half hosting was REALLY bad. Luckily he picked up as the air con are back and the electone saved the day. He's still the great host but now has more lame jokes. The freebies wrist band was a great stunt to stretch time for the stage crew. Another thing, STOP WITH THE ROCK BAND CATEGORY! I've been to NJC, HCJC, VJC  and other idol/talent time and none of the rock band can actually work the crowd, normally die becos of lead singer. And the lead singer of the winning rock band, went around with the mic... stop it! YES, I know the mic is wireless, dun hav to keep turning and walking around! I think they all need to work on their stage presence more.

The lucky draw was really great! Ipod ~!!! Then Mark said there's a note under one of the chair, everyone start searching. I WANT THE IPOD MINI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRRRRRR! Ronin rock band is satanic... gosh, local rock bands all cmi. It was a joke man, his hair and the screams.

This paragraph is dedicated to Justin Jap. He's da star! Still rmb his David Beddingfield "If u're not the one", super nice. Today his song also very nice, will young. Great vocal control and wow, da star!!! United Artist should sign him up, he already has a fan base! The girls screamings were... ear-piercing. Someone shouted "Justin dun cry!" which was so-2004. Last year when he won (after he took part for 4 years from sec 1 and he FINALLY won), he cried n his fans were "Justin dun cry!" so emotional.

I think Mr. Wang should cut an album for all the singers instead of the DVD (cos i dun hav dvd player!) YUP! I jus tok to him, he's cutting an album for them, already in production! 

And then the modern dance pri... really cute! Brought the house down. The electrone cost 16k, for 3 students. Hak Boon really gone crazy, splurgin on such things and on building ponds n waterfalls. Anyway, CHMA is THE concert of the year, those of you who didn't catch it, rmb to get the DVD (if there is) and def muz get the CD! Congrats to the winners and have fun for the whole year with united artists!
