[Mode: Disgusted] :          I can sing a rainbow too            When you wake from dreaming, your moment of life is over                Without you all I'm going to be in Incomplete

Da Kidz Says:

29th May
AUDC at NTU for the entire week, thus missing school. Met many people from The Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan etc. They're all really great and nice people and we all debated. Gosh, debated 16 rounds within the past one week! Slept in the NTU bunk and it's really small with no tv! But I was so tired every night that I just slept after bathing.

Thursday morning was the only day where we got contact with the outside world. At the NIE lecture hall 1, they logged online and flashed the results of Champion's League on the big screen - Liverpool! Then the best news - Carrie Underwood won American Idol.

NTU is really really big, like whoa! The entire organisation is very good and quite smooth, I just don't like the catering - all meat! Morning there's hotdogs and charsiew buns, afternoon is curry chicken, evening is mutton or bbq. Now i'm very sick, argh!

23rd May
It's been so long since I went online, 10 days. The past 10 days passed very slowly, it seems like decades ago when I last went back to VJ but in actual fact it was only 10 days ago. Yesterday and today had debates competition at SMU and utterly disgusted by their organisation. Registration starts at 10am, I reached at 9.40, the briefing and actual round starts at 2! Management University and they can't manage time, can't organise a simple event. With that, I'll probably not choose SMU if I were to go university.

This boiled up in my mind for a long time. NYP is seriously not a proper environment for a CCA to function smoothly, no CCA in NYP is doing well. First is the curriculum by different schools since last year, each sch has its own holiday and exams. After July, there will be schools having exams all the way till Dec. Another problem is attachment where students have to work for 3 months or more.

Then there's another thing with the students, besides school work, people has so much other priorities. China students have to return home during holidays, Malaysians return home during weekends. I have no right to criticise them because afterall I'm not studying overseas. Singaporeans work during holidays and its not because they're in serious need of money to pay for the high sch fees or wat. Want the best of both world, CCA & money, sometimes at the expense of the entire team or others. It's still okay if its weekend part time cos school is 5-day week now but gosh, some work like 5 days a week. When I see the attendance during holiday, its like WOW! Holiday suppose to be the most intensive period and now it becomes the slackiest period. Holiday is meant for CCA at least 3 days a week with an annual camp OR going overseas. I really dunno what to say... how to improve like this?

Besides the various school, the SAO in charge of CCAs also big screwed up lah. The entire NYP has so much money and they say "cannot have too many training sessions because instructors are expensive" then everything budget so much, say NYP investing a lot of money. What crap lah! $5000 is a lot of money for one year meh? Must include instructors fees, club crawl, maintain instruments, outdoor performance (transport fees), camps etc. HELLO!?! NYP so rich leh, can spend bills on maintaining those fountains. Nelson Quey charge $200 an hour lah, $5000 not even enough to cover his fee for one month!
CO only has like 5 instructors, now hiring one more, 6. Pathetic leh, even VJ guitar ensemble has 4 instructors. For ONE instrument, the guitar (which they split to the 4 or so different types). CO has soooo many instruments and only 6 instructors that goes only once a week. Then they expect so much from us?! What freak...

For once, I shall praise Hak Boon for this ONE action. Even though we have 90+ active CO members, he promised to cut down other minor CCAs and give more students to CO. Seriously, 90+ is not enough when it's compared to Hwa Cheong and all.

I'm totally disgusted by tertiary education CCAs. The only thing that keeps me going in CO are the friends whom I regularly go Kbox and have parties with, and it helps me destress. Debates... i dunno~ Anyway, played Mahjong with Justin, Alvin (& Tauraus). Probably will go for Yew Tee CO concert and CHS esplanade concert bah, haven heard of any plan for the 70th anniversary.

Those who wants CHMA tix 1st July, pls contact me! Tix running out fast so hurry or u'll hafta turn to black market!

A long time ago... in a galaxy far away
Teletubbies comes out to play
I'm not a Star War fan but roughly know the outline of the story, though I still mix up the characters... like thinking Ewan McGregor acts as Anakin Skywalker. Maybe it has lost its appeal over the decades, I simply cannot appreciate the trilogy. Many years ago, Star Wars was the movie that revolutionize the industry with its animation and imagination. Today, the light sabre and warships cannot compare to the orcs and bullet-time technology. Though I think the acting seriously CMI, like the part where Anakin turns to the dark side, so anti-climax. He looks hypnotized and stoic. The part where Obi-wan finds out that his student killed the younglings, he said "I don't believe it, I don't believe it" was sooo wierd that its funny. Lincoln said George Lucas cannot write dialogues and I totally agree. Ewan McGregor's role in Moulin Rouge was so touching and pitiful, yet here he really disappointed me. But I think yoda and R2D2 are really funny and provided much comic relief. I think the best part of the show is John Williams, I'm a great fan of his works! Quite sad that people only remember George Lucas when John Williams played such a big part in the entire movie. John Williams is the one that wrote all the songs in Star Wars, including the infamous theme song. He wrote for Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter.

Today there was an emergency meeting for the Pitching Competition where our Media course suppose to organize. The 40 of us were pretty much clueless and the situation reminded me of 2-7 when the class was handling project Y, only that this time, there were more crappier and lamer jokes during the discussion. May the force be with us...

10 seasons of Survivor and this is another groundbreaking one. Angie & Coby are great underdog characters, Stephanie is everyone's hero and now more popular than Rupert. Janu is satisfied with what she has from the adventure. The best of all is the friendship between Tom Ian and Katie, especially Tom and Ian. I was so touched when Ian gave up the million dollar just to show Tom that he wants back the friendship, wow. This season has no villian (unless you consider Gregg as one) and everyone is so inspirational! Ya its the editing but man, it's such a nice ending that Tom won. I really wonder how many will literally give up the million bucks for a friendship formed within 38 days.

Today Mr. Azhar gave a realistic but ... ghastly comment. During SSL lectures. some skipped her lecture to book seats in the editing suite and edit. Then when I told Azhar about how the rest of us rushed to the editing room, he said "Well, it's a dog eat dog world". Ya its true but he shouldn't encourage it by not doing anything. It's not as bad as T4 but still... why makes things so complicated here? After working these 2 weeks with Khai, I must really say that she's changed for the better from last sem and I learnt to pull whatever I can to complement her. Last sem she missed a lot of group meetings in the morning as she came late, so this time I just decide to meet after class time and we don't have any problems any more. In fact, she does give a lot of great ideas.

Yup, I'm glad I haven hated anyone here, there's only 1 person that I hate and that is Alex Lim - total personality clash at VJ orientation. I never showed it that I hated him but seriously, his character disgust me. I remembered so vividly that he's an entertaining person at first with the backflips that he learnt from gymnastics. However at the drama-play preparation, Rashez (a Threatrical Studis & Drama girl) prepared a script and Alex, who's the star of the show, kept changing the script, adding in new lines without even asking Rashez's opinion. He did things his way which only benefited himself as he can show off more. A few other guys and I just sat aside and didn't want to confront him. I even remembered talking to Rashez, offering her the option that I can confront Alex but she said 'nevermind'. Luckily it was only for the 5 days of orientation... The Orientation is so fun but it would have been perfect without him.

Internet is down but i'll keep blogging and upload it when the net is back for me. Anyway, today had farewell party in CO and had lots of fun games and laughter. Xiao Pang and Amelia are really good in organising games, kudos to them. Played a couple of ice-breakers and then had a round-the-school monopoly. Had the seaweed game - Hai Dai ah Hai Dai! Xiao Pang got scared by me, whoahahaha!!!

Then kena a lot of times for the sabo game - Emperor. Argh, 4x loh, had to do all those wierd wierd things lah. Er xin... yesterday at PS was bad enough le, yuck. After the party, we went Kbox at AMK at 7pm. Sang so hard and screamed so loud that my voice is quite unrecognisable now lah! All those FIR and SHIN rock songs where we were literally jumping on the sofas. 8 of us on the sofas, haha den Xiao Pang kena 'caught' by the cleaning aunty when she was jumping. Later we sang Hokkien songs by lin yi lian and then some youngsters walked past and looked at us. So funny lah, haha! I can imagine the look on the faces.

But the bill was super ex. We were suppose to sing from 7pm-12mn but somehow they cut us off at 10pm and say we have to go. So disgusted by their service and gosh, its $19 per person lah! But the package is until midnight mah, dunno why they say its until 10pm and still dare to say "minimal 3 hrs" yah we know that minimal 3 hrs but not maximum wat!

Anyway, i started the day with very confused emotions but now after k-ing it all out, feel much much better le.

13th May
There's so much things that happened today! Let's start with the NYP first, was filming with khairiyah about unpredictable weather and we expected it to rain today. Unfortunately, it didn't but we continued filming anyway. Went to school without a bag, only the bare essentials like lanyard, thumbdrive, wallet and handphone. After that I went to PS to meet danielpoh. After much deliberating, we decided to eat at BK. Then outside PS we saw Jamie Yeo and a guy from Eye4@guy-2. There was a fat guy half naked with some chocolate and dessert near the armpit area. Then they asked for a guy who DARE to lick it for $10. Ultra gross lah! Yuck, guy lick guy's arm pit! Disgusting sia...

We bought a huge milk bottle "niu nai ping" which contains sesame marshmallows, very cute! haha, imagine 2 guys having a huge milk bottle, so gay right. Reached VJC at around 7.30 just in time for the concert. The concert was enriching, first time see a guitar ensemble. I thought guitar quite boring since all the same instruments but they had various combinations and played songs like Over the rainbow, Superman (5-for-fighting), Angel (robbie william) Now&Forever, Bie Sha Le, When you believe. There was a guitar solo and the guy Paul was very good. Swee Kuan sang a duet Bie Sha Le and he was very good! First time see him play guitar, sing on stage and sooo many supporters shouting lah! Daniel & I gave him the milk bottle! haha! Daniel's kayaking female fren actually asked for a marshmallow! diaoz rite, haha. Roshni did a role-play with the conductor acting as a girl whom the conductor flirts with, so entertaining! The encore When You Believe was amazing, the 2 singers tackled Mariah Carey and Whitney Housten! Swee Kuan, Janice, huiying, roshni... great job!

Met a lot of familiar faces there. Principle Mrs Chen, CHS guys like keith, jontiong, jianhao, amoz, lum, my OG people and 04s61 - Priscilla, kelvin, mun bunn, ye lin, jing zhi and jane. Caught up briefly with them lah. On the bus back, saw something which I shouldn't have seen... VJ remained the same physically but changed so much spiritually. Maybe because I had a rough time out there and I'm glad and satisfied with what I have today.

Melvin's NJC drama night is on 23rd May. VJC choir is on next tues and ticket is $20 and booked via sistic! They always charge so expensive... argh. AJC and VJC CO also have concerts. There's star wars III next week... gosh~ Anyway, CHMA tickets are available for booking, its on 1st July! Muz go!!!

11th May
It's 1am now so shall keep this blog short. Firstly, Rob&Amber should have won The Amazing Race! They're the smartest and had constantly got 1st in many legs. Bloody uchenna&joyce won because that freaking pilot let them into the plane AFTER the door was closed! Feeling very p*ssed off now, argh!

Anyway, just now had the first percussion lesson where we practised for club crawl. Have to crush within 1 month to learn drumming, that is so crazy but its quite fun. I think I'm crazy, learning the guan, percussion and conducting simultaneously!!!

Haven done Yuko-sensei's homework, shall do it during STlim's class tomorrow which means I better sit at the back or something. Meanwhile, good luck to those debating tomorrow at inter-class! Can't be there to judge cos got Yuko-sensei lesson, haix~ nvm, i'm sure they'll do well and hopefully join in debates. Oh speaking of debates, today Azhar showed us a Youth Council forum thing and I saw Stasia and a Raffles debater (boo!) haha. Quite kewl!

10th May
Boohoohoo! Inter-class changed to Thurs which means no lunch at Cat High for me tomorrow! Which means I'm free from 12pm - 4pm tomorrow... ahhh I wanna adjudicate! But cannot pon yuko-sensei class leh! Haix, everything planned so nice then suddenly change...

Just now was super duper nervous. Gosh, after about 20mins learning from the conductor, had to conduct the orchestra. It's been a dream since primary school to conduct but standing up there was really really nerve-wrecking! My feets were trembling and my hands were numb with cold... my mind was a total blank on how to begin the piece. Can't remember the last time I was this nervous! (Not even during the auditions of SG idol!) Couldn't start the piece a couple of times, if not then I'll stop halfway because I'm lost or I couldn't stop laughing. I've played so many instruments, trumpet, french horn, suona, guan, drumset and actually the baton is the hardest!

It looks sooo easy and yet, the basic is so difficult! Just 1-2-3-4 and I made a lot of mistakes. Never mind, gotta try harder and practice more often with the baton.

To all my dearest juniors out there:
GET YOUR TESTIMONIAL + CCA RECORDS AND APPLY FOR ALL THE TOP 6 JCs NOW!
Moe just released a new system for Direct Admission Exercise in JCs today. It will be implemented on 30th May! Students can apply to the JCs with their CCAs, leadership qualities / special talents before even taking the prelim or O levels. Results will be given out in July and they are guaranteed the seat in JC even before taking O levels.

So now all the poor form teachers have to type testimonials and CCA records within 3 weeks. Juniors, be more kiasu and apply for all the JCs cos there's nothing to lose. Go go go!!!

I'm super duper tired now, 11:30pm and there's still so much more CCA work to be done and somehow I'm so slack. After I come into NYP I've become slackier and the CCA environment is so negative! Will biatch about that next time k, gotta go!

8th May
Brrr! It's raining again thanks to the monsoon season. Guess I must REALLY tell azhar to change ica topic from hot weather to cold weather. Yesterday, I reached Boon Lay at around 2.10 to pick up equipments from Azhar for filming. It's the first time Syazwan goes to Boon Lay and KK took MRT from Pasir Ris all the way to Boon Lay. Gosh, the place is sooo ulu that its worst than ulu pandan.

The 3 of us got to City Hall and walked out of MRT station seeing the hippo bus! Arrr! Missed it... so we went over to boat quey there to shoot river taxi. Then as we walked over to the Padang, it started to drizzle. So we took shelter outside the Supreme Court. Then we station the camera near it to shoot the trolley bus and duck tour.

Anyway our topic is about the Trishaw riders and we took the competitions such as duck tours etc first. Then we walked a loooong way to a bus stop to go to Bugis where the trishaws are. On the way we met Dionne-chan! There we spent a loooong time trying to persuade the uncles to interview. The trishaws are nicely decorated, one is Subaru somemore! Then we crossed the road trying to take an establishing shot of all the trishaws, a car parked in front of us! We searched for alternative but after about 5 minutes, it went away. Almost immediately, a HUGE lorry truck carrying fruits took the spot and blocked us even more! Diaoz... wat luck!

Then the tourists came and the one closest to us was a Japanese. So I asked "Nihon gin des ka?" (Are you Japanese?) which Yuko-sensei just taught us few days ago! Haha, he replied "Nihon gin des. Jeremy des!" and then told us that Singapore very nice etc in simple English. The 3 of us were cracking up, haha using what was learnt into good use. Later we saw another group of tourists and KK wanted to do "Nihon gin des ka?" but I quickly stopped him as I saw the korean words in front of the bus! Then he say "Ask, Korean gin des ka?!" hahaha... lame!

Finally, we managed to get an Uncle to willingly talk to us, cos he worked several years. He said the boss was interviewed once and then kena income tax, so everyone quite worried. Anyway, we wrapped up quickly and waited at Bugis MRT station for Azhar or Raphael to reply us about how to return the equipments. Raphael said to meet him at Redhill! Not as bad as Boon Lay but another "as ulu as ulu pandan" place! Nono... its worst than that, its like Banjaran Titiwangsa! KK asked me what's Banjaran Titiwangsa, so haha I explained. In the geography got the chapter on tourism in Malaysia. Then Marianne Cheong inside got put a place at Pahang, the mountains. One of that remote place is called Banjaran Tititwangsa!!! Credit goes to chorby and hinyeung on showing me the place on Marianne Cheong.

6th May
Yesterday was freaking cold! Nevertheless, had Yuko-sensei's class! She's sooo cute! I know that's been the umpteen time that I've said that but yesterday, she taught us 'ka'. Add a 'ka' at the end and a phrase becomes a question. Sensei-des ka? means are you a teacher. Then she said English very difficult~! "Are they, Should they, Have they, Can they" very difficult! Then we practiced asking her "Yuko-des ka?" then she'll pretend that she dunno, look at her tag den say "Hai, yuko-des!"

Today got the Azhar ICA topic which is about hot weather. But its so cold these few days!!! Got out of NYP and had lunch with Lum at Cat High. Tat and I gave a briefing for the Inter-class debates which is aimed for recruitment. This year the organization quite poor due to constraints, I'm fully prepared for the worst while judging... haha. But hey, the sec1s these year are quite enthu. We discussed a motion as example, which was uniform (tat, why is it always used as an example?!) and tat asked the question "How many of you feel proud wearing the cat high uniform" and a few of them raised their hands! Woohoo, You Qian Tu sia, I was complaining about the uniform in sec1 because of the metal buttons and the pockets, then I slowly learnt to love my uniform.

Then tat tried to give a negative example by mentioning Raffles! One of the sec 2 said "The high pants?!" LOLX! That moment so felt like pulling tat's pants cos last time his pants was the lowest!!! Anyway, I remembered an incident during debates when a RI guy was wearing the white pants with red checkered boxers inside! SO OBVIOUS!!! Everytime he turned we'll all chuckle~!

Spinning: Incomplete - Backstreet Boys

4th May
Today half the class is obsessed with Delta Goodrems' "I can sing a rainbow" advertisement song for Australia. It can be viewed here, really soothing advertisement. The song is a nursery rhyme for children to learn the colors of the rainbow. Haha, lihui and meemum are so tired of the song that they keep screaming shut up when they hear the song. So rachel, teckie, KK, Syazwan and I decided to add hand movement and sang across the tables to them at the fast food canteen.

Red and yellow and pink and green
Purple and orange and blue
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow too.

Listen with your eyes,
Listen with your ears,
and sing everything you see,
I can sing a rainbow,
sing a rainbow,
sing along with me.

We had a guest speaker- Glenda Chong, her voice is super good. She's the Channel News Asia presenter, haha tonight must watch her wor! She shared a lot of nice stories going on in the studio, so interesting. Okay, later must cheong jap and watch AI and Amazing Race le, and continue singing a rainbow... haha!

3rd May
Yay I passed my basic driving theory test! Phew, I was planning to retake with Angeline liaoz, now no need! Maybe both the answers were right, raindrop reflect light! hahaha~

Yesterday had a wierd dream. First I dreamt of KK, can't remember really what is it, then I dreamt of Teckie crying in T4's class. I was comforting her, then T4 never bother about her or what. Then later got a person from MOE come into the class to sit in and 'grade' her. You know, in primary and secondary schools the teachers will have those MOE inspectors sitting in and grading the teachers. Cos we complaint abt T4 den this MOE inspector came, then she talked to us while T4 was gone. So we biatch about all her anti-normal-acad prejudice views. I think SSL was there as well. In the end I woke up!

2nd May
Today went to reckie at Bugis with KK and Syazwan for the National Geographic Channel thing, we're filming a short clip about trishaws. I'm more excited about Jap class on Thurs, can see Yuko-sensei again!!! Not very often that I get so excited over female teachers kay~

Saw my primary sch classmate's mother while eating KFC. Syazwan and KK were like DIAOZ... hahaha! My primary really ulu and small, BKPS now ceased to exist liaoz, so sad right. But we still know each other, parents and siblings... the neighbourhood! After moving to woodlands, I hardly talk to my next door neighbour, those that are further away I don't even know! Here, most of their windows and doors are shut.

Received an sms from NYP band, saying that they found out I was a band member in Gong Jiao and then wanna recruit me. I don't remember ticking the cca boxes at all on the enrolment package and even if i did, they are one year LATE! haha too badz!
