A Rush of Blood into
the head (ColdPlay)
I've gotten the CD only
recently. I've been into the whole melancholic rock scene
since Travis and Radiohead. Personally, I thought they
were just another band seeking a big break by imitating
Travis. But I was wrong. They have a whole new sound that
is uniquely theirs. Very nice. A nice chill out album to
listen to in lazy afternoons. |

Elephant
(White Stripes)
I personally don't know what the hype was
until I bought the CD. White Stripe Rocks! A refreshing
sound that breaks barriers. "I just don't know what to do
with myself" is my theme song. :) I don't know what else
to say, Jack's talent of making tunes minus the bass is
excellent. Meg's angelic voice is another bonus. White
Stripes is definitely here to stay. |

Whoa Nelly (Nelly
Furtado)
Eversince the first time I saw "I'm Like A
Bird's" video, I was an instant fan. The album is really
good. I also have her new work but I think the first one
was her best. Her mixing of ethnic beats with modern rock
is just divine. Plus, she sings really well too. Did I
forgot that she's so damn cute? :) |

The Invisible Band
(Travis)
The first time that I've noticed them was
on Top of the Pops. An unlikely show to spot them. hehe
But they delivered a damn good performance of "Sing." The
rest of the songs here are of the same vibe. This is my
favorite album of all time. But that is temporary. :) When
niceness will be the new rock, Travis will definitely lead
the revolution. Plus, I liked the album art. |

All About Chemistry
(Semisonic)
It's all too weird since the time I first
heard about them was the time I was loathing Chemistry!
High School was really bad, I have to tell you. Anyway,
the CD is full of soft rock tunes that mostly delivers the
message of love. Yeah, 'making' love. lol. This is evident
with the album cover. |

All
Killer, No Filler (Sum41)
Although critics bagged this debut as full
of 'fillers,' I beg to differ. I personally liked
listening to the album. I'm being childish, I guess. All
the guitar riff offs were actually pleasing to my ears.
hehe. They sound a bit link Blink 182 but I think their a
bit better. I could totally relate to the lyrics which
made this album a personal favorite. Listening to it
requires a specific mood for me though. |

Three (SugaBabes)
This three girls (one half-Filipina) from
Britain has got to be the best 'maunfactured' girl band
there is. Their sound is well crafted. The garage
influence and indie sound fused together is a work of
genius. They are way ahead than most of their peers. |

Sunshine
(Sclub) Ok. You're
probably wondering why this hell of a group got into this
list? I'm sorry but I also don't know the answer. lol. No.
It's not the accent and not Rachel. I guess it's the whole
package. The TV show at Disney was my guilty pleasure. The
music only came along second. But still, despite the sugar
coating, I truly believe that they are talented
individuals. It's so sad they split up. *sigh* |

Morning Orbit (David
Usher)
I only stumbled on David
when I was rummaging through a music store. I liked the
cover. I know, I must not just music by its cover. Yeah,
yeah, but after listening to it, I was utterly impressed.
The album is kind of like a failed experiment gone good.
The album contained different sounds from different
genres. "Black, black heart" was my favorite. |

|
Escapology (Robbie Williams)
Everybody likes Robbie. That's a fact, I
think, but with the exceptions of Americans. So, Escaplogy
for me, was his best work. Again, the man is experimenting
with new sounds. Rock and Roll was more in here. He a
genius in infusing humor in most of his songs. |

No Angel (Dido)
Thanks to Eminem, Dido's
career sky rocketed. She's the favorite of my sister who
would play it over and over again and mouthing "Hunter." I
guess, it was influence. hehe. Really, Dido is really
good. Roswell's theme song "Here with me" is my favorite.
I gave my sister her new album but I didn't get to listen
to it. :( Too bad. |

 |
Beautiful (Garbage)
Wow... that was my first reaction. This album is a
classic. Shirley Manson really knows how to rock. It's all
about the glamour babe! hehe. I fell in love with the
music instantly. And, ladies who do rock, truly rocks.
Pardon the pun. :) |

Out of
the Vein (Third Eye Blind)
I was still in grade
school when Third Eye Blind became really big. I've been a
fan ever since. Their latest is a nice listen. The songs
are well crafted and I love the way they play guitars (not
so rough but strong enough... sweet). They have this
unique way of making the beginning of the song the climax.
Well, sort of, coz You'll be hooked when you got this CD. |

200
km/hr in the wrong lane (t.A.T.u.)
A
breakthrough in music. Russia's newest import crumbled the
world of pop by singing songs about being lesbos. lol. I have
the CD and it is really good. The remixes are even better.
Tatu has that unique blending of helium voices. Too Kylie,
you might think but the songs here are strong pop. A lot
of thought has been put onto it because the sound was really
new and original. Hac He Aorohrt! |
