About A Boy
This is a heart warming flick about a,
well... boy. Here we see a very different Hugh. A break
from his staple romantic comedies. Anyway, the story is
really touching and the way they presented it is just
wonderful. The boy is searching for a father figure when
Hugh came along and a bond was developed. The dialogues
were pretty simple but striking. The cinematography was
awesome while the actors were fairly good. I recommend you
to rent it. Note: It's not a chick flick. |

8 Women
This was the first French movie I saw. It is about 8 women trapped inside a stylish
mansion during winter and the only man in the house died.
The culprit is still inside. This is a film full of
surprises and beautiful women. Talking in French sounds so
cool. lol. The turning of events is so wicked that you
have no idea who is the murderer. This is a great whodunit
flick with a surprise ending that will leave you
dumbfounded. |

American
Beauty Haunting. The topic of
Nazis, midlife crisis, homosexuality, rebellion and
marriage all rolled into one is genius work. Kevin Spacey
was really good in this. At first, I only wanted to see
this because Mena Suvari was on it but after watching it
all, I knew why the Oscars was praising it. |

Billy
Elliot This wasn't showed in
most theaters here in the Philippines. I don't know why. I
was glad I caught it on Star Movies. Billy Elliot, for me,
was one of the best film ever made. The simplicity of it
is profound. Not like any other
comedy-slash-feel-good-film. It is about reaching your
dream. Billy struggled with conformity. It'll make you sob
and laugh at the same time. Yeah, satisfying. |

Pirates of
the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
A classic big budgeted Hollywood movie. The
whole pirate thing was really catchy and Johny Depp's
performance was Oscar worthy. Despite all the special
effects they still managed to incorporate some humor to
it. It ignores the classic connotation of an antagonist
since the villains weren't that bad. |

I am Sam
I was really disappointed that Sean Penn
didn't get the best actor award for this movie.
Spectacular. I am Sam's poignant story telling will make
you sob and sob till the end. Pack up all the tissues for
this one. I can't believe I cried on this. Yes, I can cry.
lol. Anyway, this still remains my most favorite movie of
all time. |

Kill Bill
Revenge is best served cold. Yeah! Kill
Bill is a kick ass flick where you'll see limbs flying and
blood gushing in every direction. For me, its 2003's best
film. The battle sequences were so elaborate that you'll
be gasping every minute. Plus, Uma Thurman was gorgeous on
this film. Part two will be shown this summer and I can't
wait. |

Riding in
Cars with Boys I'm such a
moma's boy. hehe This film about a struggling single
mother. Writing this movie page made me realize that I'm
such a sucker for drama. Riding Cars shows Drew
Barrymore's talent and Brittany Murphy shines here.
The flashback sequencing was a good idea. This is a really
good movie. |

The Italian
Job PG-13 action films has
never been this good. Although everything here has already
been done in many films, the story and soundtrack was it's
saving grace. I was already tired of those XXX type of
action. This is actually refreshing. |
