The Da Vinci Code
After reading the first chapter, I was hooked. I couldn't
put it down. The book is about a Harvard symbologist who
came across the secret society of Priory of Sion.
Paintings of Leonardo da Vinci were interpreted as giving
off signs of Mary Magdalene as the wife of Christ. It
presented an accurate and scary history of Christianity.
Dan Brown relived the old controversy of the sacred
feminine where the Holy Grail is Mary Magdalene.
This is a well written book that will awaken your senses
in an eerie kind of way. My favorite book---> ! |

Glamorama
Bret Easton Ellis is a modern satirist. His
portrayal of the glamorous world of high class New York is
scary. Every page is full of surprises. The whole plot may
look chaotic but the turn of events are well laid out. The
protagonist, Victor Ward is a man we all love to hate but
in here we wanted him to succeed. I had a lot of fun
reading this masterpiece.

Fleeced
I always loved a good whodunit book. Mary
Higgins Clark's Fleeced is one of it. Her writing is clear
and simple. The plot is so engaging that you would never
want to put this down. Even though the main characters are
a bit old, she still managed to make them look interesting
and new.

Harry
Potter (all 5 books) Harry has
always been my favorite. His misadventures in Howgarts was
the most original fantasy epic there is. This is evident
to the millions of books sold. Everybody likes Harry even
though it's a children's book. J.K. Rowling has the unique
gift of imagination that captivates the whole world. I
could not wait for the sixth installment.

Seek
This is the most unusual book I've
read. It has no narration. It is sorted out like a play
where you'll only read the character's dialogue. The story
is very engaging and heart warming. The main character is
seeking for his DJ father. He would listen to the radio
and track all DJs who might be his father.

Wrinkle in
Time This is a childhood
favorite. I actually made a paper about this for my Hum1.
This is a mixture of fantasy and science fiction. The
characters are lovable and the story as well. The journey
to whole new dimension by 'wrinkling' time was a very cool
and original concept. The adventures of Meg and her
friends through out the universe is one roller coaster
ride. Madeline L'engle is one talented writer. I also
liked her other books still starring the Murry family.

Summer
Sisters I don't know what made
me pick up this book but I'm glad I did. It is a story
about friendship, betrayal, love and growing up. The
poignant dialogues and clear description were the highs of
the book. Summer Sisters is a moving tale that would leave
a smile on your face when you're finished.

The Devil
Wears Prada Hilarious! This
the book to read when you're angry about your boss,
parent, prof., or whoever. The characters are so honest
and funny. You could not put down this book. Although
being branded as a 'chick lit' it is still good fun.
