Hunter Gatherers - The Challenge
Our Mission (We have chosen to accept it!)
1)
To be accepted as one of the 200 two man teams to participate in the Plymouth / Banjul challenge - over 2000 applied and we were one of the lucky ones!
2) Raising as much money as possible to fund the essential supplies that we will be taking and then donating to local charities.
We also aim to take a minimum of 1,000 pairs of spectacles to donate to the local doctors and clinics

3
)To drive an old left hand drive "banger" with a value of circa 100 from the UK to Banjul in the Gambia via France, Spain, Morroco, Mauritania and Senegal.
The route includes the Pyrenees, Atlas Mountains, Sahara Desert plus several very difficult border crossings. This covers 3,700 miles and will take around 3 weeks - leaving in the depths of English winter and hitting the Sahara heat.
4)Selling the car and most of it's contents with proceeds going to key Gambian Charities
5) To return safely by air to the UK - still married!!

The Rules

 Cars must cost less than 100 We achieved this but did pay an extra 290 for the stereo!
 We should not spend more than 15; on pre-race preparation .Making sure we get there safely may mean we cheat on this but at least we have got free mechanical labour from Neils Autos of Yate.
 Vehicles must be handed over at the end to be auctioned in aid of local Gambian charities
 All cars must be left hand drive (a tricky one this the van took a fair bit of tracking down
)
