Tips for Teaching Children How to Eat*
* Never use food as a reward * Never force your child to "clean their plate" * Find out and control what you child is eating at school * Switch from whole milk to 1% or 2% miik * Have them eat all meals and snacks at the table, not in front of the television * Switch all beverages to no sugar: For instance, when making kool-aid or iced tea, use an alternative sweetener such as splenda * Cut your childrens' carb portions and double up on their protein portions * Substitute Low-fat for regular-fat snack foods: Ex: Low-fat granola bars * Instead of giving your children cereal for breakfast, try eggs or an omelet with a side of fruit * Fruit or veggies instead of potato chips and candy! * NO MORE FAST FOOD!

~Tips on (subtly) Promoting Exercise in Your Family~
* Television and computers promote lethargy~Limit the time your family is "allowed" to use these things * Take a "family walk" after dinner each night * Go bicycle riding with the family * Go to the beach or hiking instead of the movies~it's also cheaper! * Enroll your children in after-school activities such as karate, ballet, or base/soft ball so they won't have the time to plop down in front of the TV or computer when they come home. * Play "stand-up" games with your kids like "simon says" or charades, instead of traditional board games
*Hope these tips help!!!*
