The Huntington Tennis Association aka the HTA, is a community
run organization that fosters local tennis competion at all
levels by organizing and running tennis ladders. A tennis challenge
ladder is an ongoing competition that allows players of all
levels to find other players of compatible skill levels to challenge
others on the ladder for a position or "rung" of the
ladder. It allows everyone from beginner to advanced to have
fun, and improve their play by challenging people above them
on the ladder.
The
HTA offers ladders for all categories and sexes including
singles, doubles in mens and womens, seniors and mixed doubles.
We start each season with a list of players from the previous
season. We also send out a newsletter
at the start of the season, a copy of which can be found online,
so people know we exist, and telling them who to contact for
more information. As people join or leave the ladder, they
are added or deleted from the list accordingly.
Our
main job is to receive scores from players, and enter scores
into the challenge ladder system. This is facilitated via
ladder captains who manage the weekly matches of each of their
ladders. Once they receive the scores from the players, the
captains then email the results to the webmaster. The webmaster
enters all played matches into the ladder software weekly,
then prints off the results to be incorporated into the web
site in the ladders section. The
software figures out everybody's positions on the ladders,
based on the reported match results. To set up your matches,
go to the instructions
page.
