Study Habits & Test Taking Tips Help for Test Taking Anxiety (nervousness) Great link: Study/Organization Skills and More!
üSet up a good study area! üStudy at the same time everyday! üDon’t wait until late hours to study! üDon’t study on an empty stomach! üMake sure you are relaxed and focused! üGive yourself little “pep talks” to stay motivated: “Just get it done!”
Make Sure Your Study Area has:
•Good
lighting and a comfortable chair
•A
desk/table to spread out your work
Make Sure it DOES NOT have:
•A
view of things that will distract you!
•A
telephone or TV to disturb you!
•A
computer signed on to Instant Messenger!
•Another
person in the room talking to you!
üRead over the whole exam before starting! üDon't panic. If you do, put down your pencil, close your eyes, and take a few deep breaths! üChoose the problem that seems easiest to you first! Complete problems in order of increasing difficulty. üIf you have time at the end, check your work! üBe wise! Don't waste time sweating out a difficult problem leaving no time for easier ones!
Tips to Reduce Test Taking Anxiety! üMake sure you studied enough beforehand! üMake sure you have a good breakfast! üCalm yourself by saying: “I am prepared” üTake a few slow deep breaths. üDon’t get upset by a question you don’t know – move to the next question and leave it for last.
