HOPE JV had a great start out of the gates.  They dominated on the defensive end of the floor holding the Lightning to 11 first half points.  Jason Kramer and Vaughn Taylor led the defensive effort with several rebounds, blocks and steals to create easy fast break points for Josh Drummond and Chris Craig.  The HOPE JV continued their dominance in the 2nd half led by George Thompson.  He scored all 15 of his points in the second half.  It was an all around great team effort.
HOPE JV kicked off their season with a tough loss to Salvation Army, 54-39.  In the first half both teams started off slow with Salvation Army leading 29-20.  HOPE's center, Rahjee Smith, displayed some great defense to keep the game close.  Early in the second half Salvation Army extended their lead to 20.  HOPE tried to make a game of it late but it was too little to late.  George Thompson led HOPE with 12 points.
