second installment for the 15th anniversary of Mobile
Suit Gundam, this alternate universe Gundam story is very

colony battles. For decades, the Earth have been oppressed by the government known as the Earth Sphere Unified Alliance, who believes that peace can only be brought about by force. The Alliance is actually being controlled the Romefeller Foundation, and their military corps, the "Specials", is also just only a cover for OZ. The Alliance crushed all that opposed them with their Mobile Suits, and placed both the Earth and the Colonies under martial law. Add the wandering Princess of Jurai, Aeka-hime, who came to Earth seeking his brother, the one who imprisoned Ryoko, the two Galaxy Police officers, the klutzy Mihoshi and the determined Kione, Princess Aeka's younger sister, Sasami and the "greatest" scientist in the whole galaxy Washuu, you have a very funny, fast-moving action comedy with lots of unique elements...including spaceships grown from trees and "cabbits" that becomes a spaceship. Things get serious when Tenchi's links to the powerful intergalactic empire of Jurai was made known. The title can be read as meaning several things. Taken as a whole, Tenchi Muyo means this side up, so the title could be referring to Tenchi's quest to regain the normal life he once led. An alternative translation is No Need for Tenchi, or Useless Tenchi, which takes on extra meaning when it is revealed that there are two Tenchi's. Which Tenchi is the title referring to? To say more would spoil the suprise of the numerous plot twists thrown the viewer's way. Suffice to say that this story contains a humorous and quirky storyline which often supplies hints in earlier episodes to later events you wouldn't guess would happen. |

| Brief Overview: This is another mecha action in which aliens invade the earth to make it their home. Initially the Brahmins wanted to peacefully coexist with the inhabitants of Earth but the Brahmin king (Lord Rychiter aka Prince Ulrich & Erika's father) was poisoned during the negotiations and they blamed the Terran negotiator Kazuya Ryuuzaki's (aka Richard Hartford) father for the act and was promptly killed with the rest of the negotiation team. This act became the centerpoint in which the Brahmins and the Terrans were led to believe, and acted upon each other in one brutal battle against another, eventually the mastermind for the assassination was finally revealed later in the story. In the midst of all there stood Daimosu, who fought all of the robot monsters the Brahmins have unleashed and defended the planet despite protest from the ill-tempered Gen. Harris, who wanted to get his hands on the Daimosu mech and destroy all the Brahmins. Daimosu is piloted by the late Prof. Hartford's son, Kazuya, who controls the mech by tubes linked to his body and enacting the martial moves to make the mech fight, usually finishing the enemy with the Hissatsu-Reppuu-Sekken-Zuki (Double Blizzard- Death Blow) attack. He is ably backed up by ace pilot Kyoshiro (Edward Kramer) and her ace gunner Nana (Joanna), Kazuya's younger sister whenever they fly the Galva FX-II fighter. Lord Rychiter (Prince Ulrich) leads the Brahmin invasion force, together with his faithful servants. Romance crops up when Kazuya helps an amnesiac Erika from falling from a cliff and their love bloomed throughout the series. |
