First of all, make sure you read up on all this information to know how this game will work. If you're lazy at least glance over the important parts. This section of the web page isn't exactly strict rules you MUST follow in order to play, it's mainly just information you'll need to know to progress. There are however a few personal rules I would like each member to review and try to follow as much as possible: 1. Don't complain about a certain outcome of a battle. Battles are determined by which abilities you chose for that specific battle and your current stats, so I'm trying to make it as fair as possible. In the future there will be other battle writers helping me out and I expect this rule to be followed for them as well. 2. If you are caught registering two characters you will get kicked out. 3. Just have fun. It's not required, but highly recommended to register on the Forums. Join our community and get to know other members, that's why they are there. E-mailing This RPG will run 4 days a week: Monday-Thursday. Now the way this game works is, you send an email to me about what you want to do on the day you want to do it. Send all emails to [email protected] - Every email sent to me can only hold one action, whether it be to travel, battle, or any other action. - Only ONE email a day can be sent. - If a person sends me two emails both will be deleted. - If a person sends me one email and tries to cram two actions in it, it will be deleted. - If a person sends me an email in advance it will be deleted. I.E. Someone sends an email on Monday about an action they want to do on Thursday. - Emails must be sent before 8:00 EST. Friday-Sunday are off days, the only thing that will be available that day are the forums and maybe the chat room. Any emails sent to me on the off days will be deleted. Abilities (click here to go to the abilities page) Abilities are going to help determine the outcome of battles. Each job starts with 3 abilities but can later in the game obtain new ones from certain notorious monsters, quests, or missions. A link to find out what each ability does will be posted here. - For a regular battle only 3 abilities can be used. So in your email you send me you should have who you want to fight and which 3 abilities you want to use for that battle. - For a notorious monster fight 4 abilities for each member fighting the monster can be used. - For a mission battle 5 abilities can be used for each member doing the mission. - For an attack on a stronghold 4 abilities can be used by each member. So in any of those emails make sure you tell me which abilities you would like to use. If you fail to post any abilities in your email then none will be used. Choosing Your Job There are 4 different jobs you could choose from: Knight - These are tall broad warriors of the remnant. The basic weapons are the sword and shield. Starting abilities: Shield Bash, Rush, Deflect Assassin - These are the swift thieves of the remnant. The basic weapons are two daggers. Starting abilities: Steal, Dodge, Tackle Fighter - These brute guys study whats left of the martial arts of the remnant. They use their fists to fight off their enemies. Starting abilities: Leg Sweep, Meditate, Counter Hunter - These are the eagle eyes of the remnant. They use bows or crossbows and 1 dagger. Starting abilities: Snipe, Camouflage, Arrow Stab Areas and Traveling The world of this current dark era is called Kursk. It is big and full of natural landscapes all over and is divided into certain regions. To see all the different regions visit the Locations section of the web site. Due to ancient technology special portals have been made to make traveling faster, however it takes 2 days to travel to any region in the world. That can be reduced to one day though if you were to purchase a Chocobo at the shop. A loyal chocobo is not certain, just make sure you check the description of the bird before you buy it. When you travel with a chocobo to region that has stables, your bird will be safe if you are to engage in battle in that region. If you are in a region that does not contain any stables your bird can get killed during battle. Choosing Your Faction The remnant of the crystal era is currently being controlled by 4 different factions alll factions give a 1000G salary at the end of each week: Loyalists of Fafnir: This group are what you can call the strange ones. Numerous rituals are performed to try to resurrect the one god they believe in, Fafnir. Most of their gil are spent on relics and artifacts to include them in their rituals. A loyalists main objective in their eyes is to worship Fafnir. Members of LoF start their journey in Nomad's Keep. Mana Incorporated: Mana Inc. are the most intelligent of the four factions. Their technology gives them an advantage most of the time but also cuts down on their brute fighting force. It was said that ancectors of the founders of Mana Inc. were the ones who created the traveling portals around Kursk. Members of Mana Inc start their journey in the Ordef Mountains. Zero Royals: One word describes the members of this faction, loyalty. Members are to swear their loyalty to the last living king Zeromuxie Roxiemauge. The young, energetic king has many orders awaiting you. Members of the ZR start their journey at the Ruins of Jory. Liberators: A person who chooses not to join a faction in the remnant has begun to be known as a liberator. This name was thought up of when two rebels destroyed a LoF stronghold. The name however dosnt also mean to rebel, some liberators have just chosen to go solo and want nothing to do with a faction. Although they don't belong to any faction they still get a salary from the three main groups in a form of persuasion. Liberators stat there journey at the Kuroru Plains. Stats Stats are your character's competence in certain areas and abilities. When you first join you have 12 points to distribute among 4 categories. Stat bonuses can be obtained by completing certain quests, missions, or different events. Strength - This does not determine how strong you hit. It is actually the amount of your stamina and how fit you are. Ability Skill - This determines how well you can handle your abilities. Intelligence - This is your brain on the battlefield. Agility - How well you can dodge an attack or ability, your evasion. Battling and Healing Battling is how you gain Experience Points (EXP). There are different types of battles in this game and like i stated above the outcomes are determined by your stats and the abilities you chose for the certain battle. So before you ambush a person you should look at which abilities he can use and check what they do here. Ambush - This is the basic and most common one of them all. Send me an email of the person you want to ambush along with the three abilities you want to use in the battle. The person being ambushed will randomly use three abilities he or she has. It is possible that a person can escape an ambush if they have a chocobo, but depending on the loyalty of the bird it could either die first or run away. Duel - This is a planned battle of two people. In order for this to work both of the people need to send me an email saying you two are going to duel. If one of them fails to send me an email then the battle does not happen. Clan Match - This is a battle between to developed clans of the remnant. In order for this battle to take place both leaders of the two clans must send me an email saying they want a match. Also the clans must have equal numbers to fight with. If one leader fails to send me an email the match does not happen. These battles are posted on the Events page rather than the Battlefield page. Mission/Quest - To take place in a mission or quest visit the Mission and Quest page. Once you have found your desired mission/quest all who are going to attend must send me an email with the title of the Mission/Quest. Missions or quests cannot be done alone. Stronghold Attack - To attack a stronghold all who are going to participate must send me an email with the Stronghold's name. Here are a few guidelines you should look over: - You must be in the same area the person your going to ambush is in. - You both must be in the same area to duel. - No EXP or healing days are gained if some one escapes a battle. - No EXP is gained if you ambush a complete new character and you are already very developed in your stats and exp. - You cannot ambush some one traveling or healing. - Stat Bonuses can be obtained from Missions or Quests. - You can attack someone that's from the same faction - You can not ambush someone that is in your Clan, but you can have duels with clan members. After every battle exp is gained plus a few days of healing. Healing days can go up to 4 depending on how bad you were hurt. During days you are healing the only thing you could do is buy something from the shop. Notorious Monsters The Notorious Monsters page is a page you'll want to check often. These rare beasts, if beaten can give you special abilities or accessories. Updates on that page of new monsters will not be announced which is why the page must be checked by yourself every once and awhile. It is best to get a group together to fight one of these but in order to figure out who gets the rare item or ability the group that killed it all must send an email to me the next day. The second email i receive gets the ability or item. Remember don't wait too long to send your email because if it is not received by 8:00 EST you lose your chance of getting the item. If a group wipes out fighting a NM then it still lives ready to fight another group. Ready to Join... Read everything? Understand it all?
