Home to MIT and the heart of Massachusetts' booming high tech and biotechnology industries. At the station itself in between the tracks are three interactive art installations, which when operated, produce various sights and sounds. Riders operate them using levers installed on the platform walls. Unlike the other T stops in cambridge Kendall station is a little distance from the happening places of the area. As soon as you come out of the T you come across the MIT COOP bookstore, and there are many buildings nearby that house offices and even a hotel. Across the street are a few more shops and restaurants. Further down the road, is the Kendall Cinema . You can walk down to the Longfellow bride to get a amazing view of the Boston sky line.
