Each June, Central Square celebrates diversity with a day-long World's Fair street festival offering food, music, and crafts from around the globe It is a carnival of street performers, vendors, local bands, and community groups, and is attended by thousands. Central square is also home to The Middle East (472-480 Mass Ave.)-The local rock musicians can be found in the audience as often as on the stage. With a downstairs for bigger acts, an upstairs for lesser-known acts, and a corner for the really small bands, you've got a shot at seeing just about anyone here. The restaurant is open 10 a.m.-midnight (1 a.m. on weekends), with a menu of authentic Middle Eastern food.
