Staff Sgt. Lillian Clamens

Staff Sgt. Lillian Clamens - 35 years old from Lawton, Oklahoma.

Staff Sgt. Clamens was assigned to the 1st Postal Platoon, 834th Adjutant General Company based out of Miami, Florida.

Lillian served in the Army Reserve for 17 years, was a full-time postal worker, and served as an administrative clerk for the unit. She was married with three children.

Lillian's niece, Sierra Cobbin of Omaha said of her aunt, "She was the type of person that was honest. She never had a bad bone in her body. She did everything for her family. She was confident, strong and just a very down-to-earth person." Staff Sgt. Clamens was killed on Oct 10, 2007 after insurgents fired rockets on Camp Victory in Baghdad from a nearby abandoned school. Also killed was Spc. Samuel F. Pearson - 28 years old from Westerville, Ohio.
She was killed just before she was due to come home. According to family members, Lillian was due to return to Homestead, FL the next week.

"She died doing what she wanted to do." Spoke her sister, Dana Cobbin. "I don't have a sister no more. I miss my baby. I'm going to miss her. I just wanted to see her one last time. She was supposed to come home."
