Aonach Eagach is known to be the hardest ridge to hike on the mainland of Scotland. It offers great vistas all along the trail and is a good challenge for the hiker who knows what he is doing.
From its 1660 meters, Ben Nevis represent the highest mountain on the British Isles. This title and the fact that it is not really hard to hike brings a lot of tourist on its trail. So if you like the quietness of nature, this is not the place to go.
Scottish landscape are some of the beautifulest one can find. The absence of trees on the mountains gives to the hiker a view on the country all along his hike. When it's cloudy one can feel the Scottish mood when he walks in the clouds and when it's sunny he discovers a magical landscape which surrounds him. The biggest advice I can give to someone planning to hike in Scotland is to go for it whatever the weather is as long as it is not pouring rain. Scottish weather changes really quickly in the mountains so you can start when it rains and once you reach the summit it is sunny. Even if it does not happen it is still really special and relaxing to walk in the clouds.

All the hikes I descibe here except Ben Nevis are in Glen Coe a bit south of Fort William which is known to be one of the best place to hike in Scotland. Also, some movies like Highlander, Rob Roy and Braveheart had a few scenes filmed in this valley. Unfortunately, I did not have the time to do other ones but I spent my summer there so I know it very well. So if you have any questions on these hikes or if you would like to add some other trails you have done in Scotland, do not hesitate to contact me.
If you have only the time for one hike in this region, I would recommand this one. It offers great water falls to accompany you and the view from the summit is amazing.
You can see this mountain in the movie Highlander. It is the one in the background of the first battle in the middle ages. There is two different ways to get on the summit. An easy one ans a harder one so every body can find something at his level.
With good weather one can have amazing views on the landscape surrounding him since most of the hike is on a ridge but if it is cloudy, it is a long hike with nothing really spectacular.
