| Chapter 3 In chapter three, Huck is already home and Miss Watson is talking about his greasy clothes. Widow Douglas wasn�t happy about his clothes either, but didn�t say anything. Miss Watson wanted Huck to pray. Huck didn�t believe in praying because he would pray for material objects and wouldn�t get them. Huck mentions his father. He hasn�t seen Pap for over a year and he feels comfortable about it. He didn�t want to see him because he was an aggressive person with him. All the boys resigned from the gang because they would pretend to rob and kill. Tom told the band that Spanish merchants and A-rabs were going to camp in a cave. They were going to have elephants, camels and mules. It was all a lie. Tom told Huck that he didn�t know anything. Chapter 4 In chapter four, Huck is going to school. At he first he didn�t like it, but then he got used to it. Huck threw salt over his shoulder to keep the bad luck away. Miss Watson saw him and got mad because Huck made a mess. Huck noticed footprints in the snow and ran to see Judge Thatcher, the man that had his money. Huck gives his money to Judge Thatcher without explaining it to him. Jim had a hair-ball that was made of the fourth stomach of an ox. The hair-ball was magical and knew everything. Huck went to Jim to find out what Pap was going to do. Huck and Jim were going to trick the hair-ball by giving it a fake quarter. The hair-ball told Jim that Pap didn�t know what he was going to do. When Huck got home Pap was in his room. |
