From P. 74: "William was born 4 Mar 1803 probably in Pendelton Dist.

Livingston Co. KY. One source said he was born in TN. If so, he was
born on
the way to KY, but I doubt it. His family moved to KY in 1803. He
was the son of James Laughlin and Rachel Dalrymple.
He moved to Gascoande Co. MO in the early 1820's and married Mary
Alice
(Polly)Eads there 2 September 1823. She was born 13 September 1800
in KY, Her mother was probably Nancy Simpson.
William was a farmer. He died 22 Mar 1859 in Osage Co., MO, and was
buried in the Laughlin Cemetery on a farm near Frankenstein. Mary
died 20 May 1879
(1871?) in Osage Co. and was buried in the same cemetery.
After William's death Polly moved to Deer Creek and stayed there
probably until her death. William's brother Robert, referred to her
as "Old Sister Polly" or "Old Sister Polly Bill" in letters he wrote
to his brother, Samuel, in Oregon."
