Hello, dear Pokemon fans.

On one fateful day in December of 1999, Pokemon Avenue was established as an archive of up-to-date Pokemon pictures and videos.  Back then, I was a cheery little kid who was ecstatic to see his favorite Pokemon characters on the web, in stores, on television, etc.  Little did I know that in the next few years, my hard work and devotion to Pokemon Avenue would make the site a flourishing source for numerous Pokemon fans around the world.

Fast-forward to April of 2004 - I somehow fled the site without any trace!!

After almost two years of absolutely no news or updates being conducted on the site, I'm finally here to officially announce my leave.  Due to certain shifts in my interests and in my life, I haven't been able to finish, update, or create new

pages for Pokemon Avenue for the past two years, and I am sorry.  I know that many fans of this site were disappointed by my sudden disappearance, but now I hope that this last update may provide all of you with some sense of closure.

I will no longer continue working on the site.  However, I will leave the site as is, so that it may be preserved as an archive of sorts for me and others to look back upon.  I will not transfer ownership of Pokemon Avenue to anyone.  I will still claim ownership of the site, because...........it's my work of art!  And I don't like giving away my art :)

I know that the site is very imperfect due to the lack of info on new stuff like
Pokemon Emerald and Pokemon XD, but take the site for what it is and what it was.  Mind you that Pokemon Avenue was pretty up-to-date on almost every aspect of Pokemon back in its prime!

Well, I don't want to continue rambling, because I have a life to attend to, and I'm sure you do too.  Farewell to you all, Pokemon fans!!!

Sigh . . . the next Pokemon movie to come to the US won't be making a debut on the big screen.  Fortunately, it will be hitting store shelves on DVD and video on June 1, 2004!  Jirachi Wish Maker is the first Pokemon film to go straight to DVD & VHS, but that doesn't mean that the theatrical experience is gone . . . does it?

To the left is the box art for the DVD, and below is a list of what the DVD has to offer.

Bonus Features:
- Pokemon "Gotta Dance" short (also on VHS)
- "Make A Wish" Music Video
- Trivia Comparisons
- Pokemon Gallery

Fire Red & Leaf Green Release Date!
Forums

Nintendo of America has announced the release dates for Pokemon Fire Red and Pokemon Leaf Green.  In Japan, these games sold like crazy, which was a bit unexpected considering that they are just new-and-improved remakes of the original games, Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green.  The two games will be hitting North American retailers this September.  The game will come with the wireless adaptor like in Japan, so you can trade and battle wireless!

Now, to clarify a previously established rumor, there will NOT be a Water Blue version replacing Leaf Green.  North Armerica will be receiving Fire Red and Leaf Green just as Japan had received.

The GBA . . . More Than Just A Gaming Unit?

Just when you thought the GBA had reached its maximum performance, a new function is introduced!

      Nintendo has created new
Game Boy Advance Video cartridges, with which you can play episodes of Pokemon and other beloved TV shows on the Game Boy Advance!  The first GBA video cartridge will be holding two full-screen, color episdoes and will include fast-forward, rewind, stop, and pause controls.  Each Video cartridge will be able to hold approximately 90 minutes of video, and maybe even some playable games!
Game Boy Advance Video

The first two cartridges released will be based on the hit Pokemon TV series, featuring episodes "Playing With Fire" and "Johto Photo Finish"on one cartridge, and "A Hot Water Battle" and "For Ho-oh the Bells Toll" on another.  Considering the small size of the GBA screen, it's amazing that it can smoothly play whole episodes.  I'm asuming that the videos would be best viewed on the GBA-SP, since lighting would defenitely help.  Let's hope that Ninendo knows what its doing with this.

Expect a release of these. Game Boy Advance Video cartridges in May

Sorry about the month-long delay of News & Updates, folks.  I really am.  I guess I just got a bit lazy.  I wish I had some other excuse, but that's what happened - laziness.  Anyway, back to the news...
Pokemon 7:  Visitor of the Space Fissure
If you haven't already heard, the official trailer for the 7th Pokemon movie, Visitor of the Space Fissure, was recently released on the official Japanese Pokemon website.  As you can see from the new graphic poster to your left, the movie will be featuring the elusive DNA Pokemon, Deoxys (along with his two other transformations which debuted in Fire Red & Leaf Green), and the Skyhigh Pokemon, Rayquaza.  Leading the adventure will of course be Ash and his friends, May, Brock, Max, and Pikachu, along with a new character, who will be introduced in the film, and Plusle and Minun!
