|
40 years ago, a hunter who specialized in selling rare Pokemon tried to catch Celebi, a legendary Pokemon with the ability to travel through time. In order to escape, Celebi used the last of its energy to travel to the present bringing with it Sammy, a boy who tried to save Celebi from the hunter. In the present, Ash, Pikachu and crew find Sammy in the woods. and an old woman - whom Sammy had met as a girl in the past - helps them all to understand what has transpired. Sammy is determined to help the wounded Celebi recover, and Ash and Pikachu are eager to help. Tracey makes a 3rd movie appearance, however it was cut out.
The movie opened in 249 theaters throughout the United States.
The DVD features the animated short "Pikachu's PikaBoo," which appeared with the Japanese release of the film. It also features a number of extras including a sneak peek at the next Pokemon, commentary with the actors and producers, and an interactive trivia game featuring clips from the movie. For the first time ever you'll also be able to view the Pokemon animation process through a multi-angle animation progress feature.
Sam in this movie is actually Professor Samuel Oak. Professor Oak traveled though time with Celebi when he was young. After he went to his proper time and world, he grew up and became the renowned Pokemon researcher of Ash's hometown, Pallet Town.
